Music Conservatory of Westchester (MCW) is preparing talented high school music students for college studies and future careers in music, in its MCW Prep Program launched in September, 2019. On Monday, August 17, 2020 at 6pm, the esteemed faculty of the Conservatory's MCW Prep program will speak in a roundtable discussion and will be answering questions from prospective students and their parents.

The New York Philharmonic has announced its spring 2020 education programs: Young People's Concerts, including one tied to Project 19, the Philharmonic's celebration of the centennial of the 19th Amendment through 19 commissions by women composers; Very Young People's Concerts; New York Philharmonic Very Young Composers Program, expanding to Brooklyn; four free concerts as part of the New York Philharmonic Youth Mentorship Program; and Musicians from the New York Philharmonic performing a free concert for individuals with dementia and their caregivers as part of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts's Lincoln Center Moments.

The 36th season of the New York Philharmonic Ensembles series - chamber concerts showcasing Musicians from the New York Philharmonic performing classical and modern works they have chosen on select Sunday afternoons at Merkin Hall - will continue this spring with three concerts. Philharmonic musicians will perform works by Mendelssohn and Schubert on March 15, 2020; Vanhal, Mendelssohn, Roussel, and Mozart on April 19, 2020; and Eric Ewazen, Stravinsky, and Dvořák on May 24, 2020.

Australian conductor Simone Young will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct works from the Commonwealth: the New York Premiere of Australian composer Brett Dean's Cello Concerto, with Alban Gerhardt in his Philharmonic debut; Britten's Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes; and Elgar's Enigma Variations, Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m.
NY Philharmonic Announces Details For 2019 OSU Residency

The New York Philharmonic will be in residence at Oklahoma State University (OSU), October 11a?"14, 2019, performing the inaugural concerts of The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts and engaging with OSU students through educational activities. Music Director Jaap van Zweden will lead the Philharmonic in three programs at The McKnight Center, two featuring Tony Awarda?"winning Oklahoma native Kelli O'Hara and one featuring Philharmonic Concertmaster Frank Huang. All three concerts will be shared with the Stillwater community through free simulcasts on the venue's outdoor LED wall. The residency marks the New York Philharmonic's debut in Stillwater and first return to Oklahoma after more than 30 years. The partnership is made possible in part by a $25 million programming gift to OSU's McKnight Center by alumni Ross and Billie McKnight; Mr. McKnight is also a New York Philharmonic Board Member.

Very Young People's Concerts Continue with FORTE AND PIANO

The New York Philharmonic Very Young People's Concerts (VYPCs), for children ages three to six, will continue its 14th season Sunday, March 31, 2019, at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Monday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Merkin Hall, 129 West 67th Street. The program, titled “Forte and Piano,” is the second installment in Philharmonic Playground, the season's theme that imagines the Orchestra as a playground.
