Partnership With 100 Black Men Of Syracuse Begins Syracuse Stage Season

Announcing ART BEATS ATLANTA, An Online Portal For Virtual Arts Events And Digital Content

Art Beats Atlanta, a co-op of Atlanta-based arts and culture organizations, has launched ArtBeatsATL.com, a free online portal where people sheltering at home can find and engage with virtual events and digital content created by arts organizations throughout the greater-Atlanta area. The website showcases weekly virtual events, information, and digital content for theatre and spoken word, dance and movement, music, visual arts, film and classes. The site will be live beginning Wednesday, May 20, 2020. More info can be found at ArtBeatsATL.com.

Whitney Rowland's new play, Wayfinding, is a “magical realism melancholic comedy” that uses the concept of “time bending” to shape the characters' journeys to unexpected destinations. Jane (Sarah Wallis) is an emotionally-numbed new widow. Harrison (Ben Thorpe) is Les's (Charlie T. Thomas) inattentive, self-sabotaging fiancé. In seeking escape, these two strangers collide – both literally and figuratively – tangling their lifelines and setting them on a journey involving an intercontinental plane crash, a magical forest, and a choice that leads them both to an unexpected destination. Wayfinding runs through March 29, 2020 at Synchronicity Theatre.

Synchronicity Theatre And Agnes Scott College To Launch Partnership To Develop Women Leaders

With the help of a grant from The Kelin Foundation, Synchronicity Theatre and Agnes Scott College have partnered to launch a two-year pilot program that will provide opportunities for Agnes Scott students to intersect with Synchronicity Theatre and Atlanta's theatre community. This unique pilot program will ensure a a?oecontinuum of learninga?? through an introduction to contemporary female playwrights and dramatic criticism, weeklong leadership development residencies in partnership with Agnes Scott's signature SUMMIT experience, and paid a?oereal worlda?? internships at Synchronicity Theatre.

Urban Stages to Present THE TOURIST TRAP PLAYS - Starring Disnie Sebastien

Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director) will begin 2020 with The Tourist Trap plays. Seven playwrights have been challenged to write a brand spanking new short play using a tourist trap (Mount Rushmore, Hollywood Sign, etc) as a springboard. This will be the ninth installment of short play premieres under Urban Stages New Pages' facilitated by Bara Swain. The program provides increased visibility and networking opportunities to playwrights at all career levels as well as free public programming.

Five New Hires Announced At Synchronicity Theatre

Producing Artistic Director Rachel May and Managing Director Celise Kalke are pleased to announce that five staff members have joined the Synchronicity Theatre team. They are Lindsay Eisold, Technical Director; Sarah Kelley, Marketing Director; Jennifer Kimball, Stripped Bare Producer; Dalyla McGee, Development Director; and Vallea E. Woodbury, Production Manager.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre Announces I LOVED, I LOST, I MADE SPAGHETTI

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), the North Fulton professional theatre company will produce the one-woman show, I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti  for their late Fall production at their home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. Running October 25th through November 11th, 2018, the show stars Atlanta's own "Souper Jenny", Jenny Levison, and will be directed by Synchronicity Theatre Artistic Director Rachel May. The production is sponsored by the Robert W. Hagan Family Foundation.

Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta announces that Synchronicity Theatre and YMCA of Metro Atlanta are 2018 Managing for Excellence award recipients. Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre To Produce Jennifer Barclay's RIPE FRENZY

Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre will produce the rolling premiere of Jennifer Barclay's new play, Ripe Frenzy. The winner of the 2016 NNPN Smith Prize for Political Theatre, Ripe Frenzy tells the story of a mass shooting in a small American town. Told from multiple points of view, and through the lens of Thornton Wilder's classic play, Our Town, Barclay examines all sides of a tragedy that has ruptured the spirit a once idyllic community. Performances run from April 13 to May 6, 2018.
