Longtime En Garde Arts Chairperson and board member Joan D. Firestone is being honored with the creation of a fund in her name. En Garde Arts has raised $100,000 through a group of generous donors. This is a five year endeavor and every year one theatre artist will receive an $18,000 award and will have full freedom with how to use the funds.

Olaf himself has become a Christmas character, and lawn Olafs have nearly replaced Frosty decorations. 'Let It Go' was a surprise pop hit, and propelled theatre actress Idina Menzel into a new life as 'Adele Dazeem,' movie regular and internet meme. Naturally, a Broadway musical was inevitable. The question is, given Disney musicals' track record of falling between brilliance and mediocrity, how would Frozen do?

Craig Revel Horwood will star as 'Miss Hannigan' in the UK and Ireland Tour of their smash hit production of the musical ANNIE, opening at Leicester Curve Saturday 25 February 2023.  Opera San José, in association with the Packard Humanities Institute, will host the international operatic conducting debut of prodigy composer/musician Alma Deutscher, who will take the podium for a lavish production of her landmark opera, Cinderella. Based on the classic fairytale, this family-friendly work is reset at an opera company run by a scheming stepmother, in which the title character is a brilliant composer laboring as a lowly copyist.
