Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are open this November with a full slate of nightly performances! 

Birdland presented three award-winning musicians in “Three Friends/One Piano.” Jim Brickman, Victoria Shaw and Peter Cincotti created an evening of “musical chairs” as they played their hits and told the stories behind them. See photos here!

BIRDLAND THEATER will present vocalist Christian Holder in his new show “Dreams and Inspiration” – featuring a special appearance by Donna McKechnie – on Monday, November 7 at 8:30 PM.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present singers Stacy Sullivan and Todd Murray in the new show “I’m Glad There Is You – The Musical Romance of Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee” on Monday, October 31 at 8:30 PM.

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present a special musical evening with three great musical talents Victoria Shaw, Jim Brickman, and Peter Cincotti, in “Three Friends, One Piano” on Monday, October 10 at 7:00 PM.

Every single Monday for the past eighteen years, host Caruso, along with the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra led by Billy Stritch (Daniel Glass on drums and Steve Doyle on bass) hosts Jim Caruso’s Cast Party shining a spotlight on an awe-inspiring variety of talent.

The new season includes an assortment of iconic superstars, innovative tribute shows, dance, jazz, comedy, plus a robust music, holiday and variety lineup, one of the best Broadway seasons in years and more than two dozen shows making their McCallum debuts. The Manhattan Association of Cabarets has announced the 2022 MAC Award nominees. The nominees were determined by votes cast by the active MAC membership, except for the song and recording categories, which were determined by special committees.

Peter Cincotti owned the piano in Birdland last night and it wasn’t because his name was temporarily affixed to the legendary 7 foot Yamaha for his engagement.   Imagine Billy Joel, Harry Connick Jr., Lang Lang, Manilow, and Jerry Lee Lewis on the same piano bench and it will give you an idea of the kind of exciting music at a Cincotti performance.

Over the past two months, Jim Caruso’s Cast Party has been packing Birdland with throngs of music and theater lovers eager to cheer the return of the show biz scene. Fans of Broadway, jazz, country, and the Great American Songbook have been delighted by the impromptu talent that has consistently shown up to entertain.

There were dazzling musical performances by Peter Cincotti, Victoria Shaw, Ruby Locknar, Azusa Sheshe Dance, Matt Baker, Ava Locknar, Artemesia LeFay, Nicole Zuraitis, Hailey Brinnel & Joe Plowman, Callie Holley, Quentin Harris & Bryce Edwards and Lowell Oakley, among many others. 

On Monday, July 19, some uber-talented people stormed the Birdland stage for another installment of Jim Caruso’s Cast Party. 

On Thursday, May 13th, Gale Brewer, City Council Candidate in District 6, will host “Broadway & Beyond for Brewer”, a star-studded virtual fundraiser with performances and appearances by fan favorites from the screen and Broadway stage.

A virtual tribute to New York City, Take Me Back to Manhattan filmed at the famed Carlyle Hotel in New York, will be available to stream beginning Saturday, May 1, 2021.

Notables from President Bill Clinton and Whoopi Goldberg to musicians Wynton Marsalis and Sting joined together on Sunday, Jan 24th to “Save Birdland”.  During the fundraising concert the Broadway community was treated to “All That Jazz” starring the original Velmas of Chicago, Chita Rivera and Bebe Neuwirth.

The fundraising campaign for Birdland Jazz Club will conclude on January 24th with a free streaming concert titled Save Birdland: A Celebration of Music, History and Community.
