From the Bedford Playhouse stage in New York, back curtains bathed in red and green light, and beautifully decorated with poinsettias and a Christmas tree, one of Broadway's most celebrated songstresses welcomed in the holiday season. Liz Callaway performed a delightful mixture of classic carols, and beloved songs from film and the Broadway stage.

One of the lucky few who has been able to perform in public this year, Dawn Derow has also spent a little time working indoors. WHITE CHRISTMAS is the result of some of that work.

Working Girl Records recently announced that Tony nominee and Emmy winner, Liz Callaway, will release her new holiday album Comfort and Joy–An Acoustic Christmas, on Friday, December 4, 2020. Knowing that this holiday season would look and feel different, Callaway took to social media for inspiration on song favorites and decided to create an entire acoustic album for the end of 2020. Collaborating virtually with Peter Calo, a renowned guitarist and producer, Callaway’s album features ten special tracks – from traditional carols to newer Christmas classics (including songs written by Sara Bareilles, and her sister, Ann Hampton Callaway), as well as a guest vocal from Grammy nominee Jann Klose.

Adding to an already star-studded lineup, a?oeThe Music of Carly Simona?? at Carnegie Hall today announced that Deborah Cox, Jimmy Webb, Julie Simon, Natasha Bedingfield, Susanna Hoffs, Tony Shalhoub, and the Romulus Hunt Quintet have signed on to honor the Grammy, Oscar, and Golden Globe winning singer/songwriter, Carly Simon at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, March 19. Also announced today was the all-star house band, led by Teese Gohl and accompanied by Mick Rossi, David Saw, Peter Calo, Rick Marotta and Will Lee. Previously announced artists include: Indigo Girls, Livingston Taylor, Michael McDonald, Rachael Price of Lake Street Dive, Ben Taylor and Sally Taylor, John Forte, Resistance Revival Chorus, Darlene Love, and Linda Perry. Marci Kraft opened her 6th in a series of clever cabaret shows at Don't Tell Mama Cabaret in NYC. Her unique take on the evenings' song lists are directed at tunes of particular decades from 40's to 50's and now in the newest incarnation, songs of the 70s (and specifically a few popular TV theme songs - in this case, from the 80s).

On Saturday, October 5, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will present the music of singer/songwriter giants Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon as performed by world class artists Peter Calo, Carly Simon's guitar player and musical director; singer/songwriter Anne Carpenter; and special guest, Grammy Hall of Fame inductee John Lissauer, on multi-reeds.
