Arizona Opera has announced its 2021/22 Season—its 50th Anniversary Season—which will feature an exciting and diverse programming schedule of five productions, including the release of the company’s first world premiere film and four planned in-theater productions in both Phoenix and Tucson.

Beginning Thursday, May 13 at 7pm TALES FROM THE WINGS: A Lincoln Center Theater Celebration!, a virtual gala, will take a look back at the theater's iconic productions featuring performance footage and insider anecdotes from those productions' artists about their experiences on LCT's stages.

The schedule includes a week entitled From Page to Stage, featuring operas based on works by some of history’s great writers, and a week of fairy-tale operas entitled Once Upon a Time. The 1987 telecast of Puccini’s Turandot, with Eva Marton, Leona Mitchell, Plácido Domingo, and Paul Plishka, will be streamed for the first time on April 17.

Artists in the AZ Arias concert were internationally known  Brazilian baritone Paulo Szot, members of the Arizona Opera Orchestra led by Maestro Cal Stewart Kellogg, Head of Music, Christopher Cano, as well as studio members: sopranos Cheyanne Coss and Caitlin Gotimer, mezzo-soprano Mack Wolz, tenor Terrence Chin-Loy, and baritone Rob McGinness.
