Big Issue Foundation has announced that a critically acclaimed theatre production commissioned as part of Big Issue’s 30th anniversary celebrations will be staged across the UK during a month-long tour this Autumn and it is coming to THE GREENWICH THEATRE  from 18th to 22nd October.

‘Kisses on a Postcard’ is a thrilling World War Two musical, an intensely moving portrait of an extraordinary episode in British history, packed with memorable songs, danger and humour.

Beginning with band work in the UK, moving on to a wide range of experience as a session singer. Her first label signing was with disco king Giorgio Moroder in Munich, Germany in 1976, this included a single release called “Dr Funk (with Smiley)” plus a session for Giorgio on one of his own disco hits “I Wanna Funk with you Tonight.”

The new tour will kick off on October 15 in Greenville, SC, making stops in 43 U.S. cities including New York’s Madison Square Garden, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena before concluding in Seattle, WA on March 17.  Underwood will be joined on THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR by special guest Jimmie Allen on all dates. The evolution of the American musical has morphed from operetta to Vaudevillian musical revue to the classic  integrated musical comedy. The advent of the jukebox musical began as MAMMA  MIA and ALL SHOOK UP shoehorned popular music into a script to showcase Abba or Elvis Presley’s music into paper-thin plots. Now, for better or worse, the bio-concert emerges, as the slick new touring production of AIN’T TOO PROUD : The Life and Times of THE TEMPTATIONS opened at Shea’s Buffalo Theatre. The music of the Motown wonder group THE TEMPTATIONS is one of the  latest properties to take to the Broadway stage. And since it's debut, other biographical musicals are being given similar treatment, telling the stories of Cher, Tina Turner and Michael Jackson.

Today, UC Irvine Jack and Shanaz Langson Institute and Museum of California Art (Langson IMCA) announced six new acquisitions that entered the museum's growing collection in 2021. The gifts of artworks represent a range of genres and mediums by artists responding to the California experience, dating from the early 20th century to 2019.

The Birdland Theatre and Jazz Club has an abundance of performances happening from January 31st through February 13th. Artists appearing at Birdland Jazz Club include John Pizzarelli Swing Seven, SUNY Purchase Latin Jazz Orchestra, Greg Abate Quartet, John Pizzarelli Trio and Svetlana's Big Band. 

The National Tour of Ain't Too Proud officially kicked off at the Kennedy Center, after cancelling 15 performances due to COVID-19. Performances began on December 28 and continued through January 16.

On Tuesday, March 16, award-winning authors and former military officers Elliot Ackerman and Admiral James Stavridis come to The Music Hall's virtual stage as part of the Writers on in The Loft series, now being presented in an intimate, online format. Ackerman and Stavridis will discuss their new novel 2034, a chillingly authentic, geopolitical thriller that imagines a naval clash between the US and China—and the path to a nightmarish global conflagration.

Today, Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers) announces his second solo LP and shares the lead single 'Born Stupid.' FLOOD Magazine premiered the track and video, praising 'Born Stupid' as 'a conventional country-western tune through a sinister vocoder' with 'just a bit of self-deprecation.' 

In just two years from 2017 to 2019, more than 800 people died living and sleeping rough on the streets of the UK - a significant number of them have never been identified or named.

THE GREAT BIG RADIO SHOW - the hit comedy musical that premiered in 1993 with a sold-out run at the Watermill Newbury - will be available to UK and international audiences to rediscover, as the 2014 European premiere from Malta's Teatru Manoel is released as part of its Streaming Series on Saturday 25 July and Sunday 26 July only.
