The Tony Award winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) will launch its 84th year and Bill Rauch's final season as artistic director with preview performances beginning on March 1. The 2019 season officially kicks off Friday night, March 8, in the Angus Bowmer Theatre with Shakespeare's As You Like It (director, Rosa Joshi). On Saturday afternoon, Cambodian Rock Band (director, Chay Yew) opens in the Thomas Theatre, and Hairspray The Broadway Musical (director, Christopher Liam Moore) opens that evening in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. On Sunday afternoon, the drama by Southern Oregon based playwright Octavio Solis, Mother Road (director, Bill Rauch), will see its world premiere in the Angus Bowmer Theatre.

Center Theatre Group will offer Spanish-language translations of the 8 p.m. performance of Luis Valdez's "Valley of the Heart" on Friday, December 7 at the Mark Taper Forum. And I am not revealing whether or not Della bakes the cake or even attends the wedding as the truth is revealed during the final moments of the play when THE CAKE proves that love is always the key ingredient in life.

I would classify szalt Dance Company as avant-garde, eclectic, modern in approach, sound, philosophy and technique. Though not my specific style of expertise, I was fascinated by the exploration of ideas, body movement and thought processes the dancers expressed. Stephanie Zaletel is the founder of szalt (dance co.), after much experience as a dancer, rehearsal director, teacher and now choreographer. The company was formed in 2015, which purpose it was to examine the feminine psyche, that includes body memory after trauma, reaction to other people's energy and feelings, and letting free haunting memories to be able to move forward.
