THIS BEAUTIFUL CITY was created from interviews by Emily Ackerman, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Brad Heberlee, Stephen Plunkett, Alison Weller and the authors with actual persons over the course of 10 weeks in Colorado Springs. The current climate of uncertainty and angst demands the instant self-analysis provided by The Red Fern Theatre Company's presentation of Raised in Captivity, a dark comedy about twin siblings who deal with guilt, redemption, self punishment, and revealed secrets following their mother's untimely death. Amidst the seemingly unending economic crisis, this production acts as a satiric mirror for the dysfunction, alienation and depths of depravity possible in a sometimes cold society.
