Born and raised in rural Northern California, Megan Brickwood’s artistic journey has taken her across the West Coast, from Shasta County to Los Angeles to the Seattle area in search of new sounds and musical ventures. Her debut EP, Where the Wind Lays Heavy, was recorded at Death Star Studios in Koreatown in Los Angeles and released in 2020.
The album, which Lightburn jokes is an audio version of a biopic, was inspired by the passing of his father, a jazz musician from Belize who moved to Montreal via New York to reconnect with his teenage sweetheart. The two were married for 56 years, until he passed in April 2020 in a Quebec nursing home where he’d been living with Alzheimer’s.
Louie Short and Shamir worked with Said as producers on the project and played on a number of tracks, in addition to a cadre of musicians like Christian Lee Hutson, Eliza Niemi, Dorothea Paas, Grant Pavol, Victoria Bury, Annie Truscott, Nick Short, and Drew & Jeremy Harmon filtering in and out of each song.

Celebrate Halloween this year Kinky Boots Style by getting dressed up (optional!) and heading to Stage 42 on October 31st, where the audience is encouraged to sing along with some of their favorite tunes from the show during the performance.

Masterson was a part of the city’s art party scene where he was inspired to make music. Heavens So Dark is Masterson’s first attempt at a full album. It’s the result of his journey up to this point – playing piano at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, guitar at The Viper Room in Los Angeles, and organizing warehouse jams in Toronto and New York.
