Wouldn't it be ironic that the time that the whole of the UK (and indeed the world) really fell in love with theatre was when no-one could actually go there? Millions of people who already love the performing arts are desperately missing their fixes. But now this virus is the great equaliser; everyone is at home, yet still want and need to be entertained.

In light of the closure of theatres across the UK due to COVID-19, the Original Theatre Company's productions of Alan Bennett's THE HABIT OF ART and Ali Milles's THE CROFT, both of which were touring the UK, will now each have an online launch performance.

In light of the most recent government advice due to COVID-19, The Original Theatre Company's production of Alan Bennett's THE HABIT OF ART, which was due to open at Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne on Wednesday 18 March 2020, will now perform a closed filmed performance on Wednesday 18 March 2020 at 2pm.

On 30 March 2020 Tim Levy will join the leadership of London Theatre Company as co-director alongside founding co-directors Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr.

Alex Jennings will lead the cast in the world premiere of Stephen Beresford's The Southbury Child directed by Nicholas Hytner at the Bridge Theatre. Designs are by Mark Thompson with sound by George Dennis and lighting by Max Narula. Further casting will be announced shortly.

The BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center will partner with host Randy Cohen for his Person Place Thing podcast and radio show for a third season. The first guest of 2020 to be featured at Tribeca PAC is Artistic Director of Lincoln Center Theater, André Bishop, on Monday, March 16 at 7pm. Theater lovers will be able to experience Laura Linney's acclaimed performance of My Name is Lucy Barton for years to come a?" as an audiobook. Penguin Random House Audio will release a studio recording of the play performed by Linney on February 4, 2020, available wherever audiobooks are sold alongside the original audiobook edition narrated by Kimberly Farr.

Performances begin tomorrow, Saturday, January 4, for the American premiere of the London Theatre Company (Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr) production of My Name is Lucy Barton starring Laura Linney (Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes, 'Ozark'), by Elizabeth Strout (Olive Kitteridge), adapted by Rona Munro (The James Trilogy), and directed by Richard Eyre (The Crucible, Notes on a Scandal).
