A dependable haven for artists in isolation, Theater Resources Unlimited is now into its second year of non-stop weekly Community Gatherings this Friday, having offered to date over 60 conversations and unlimited camaraderie since April 17, 2020.

Hernandez is graduating as part of Cal State LA's Class of 2021. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, with an option in design and production, and finished with a 3.9 GPA. The 21-year-old Boyle Heights resident hopes to start a career in themed entertainment, helping create worlds like the ones she loved getting lost in growing up.

The Opera Company of Middlebury presents an imaginative retelling of Bernstein's comic operetta Candide, streaming online June 15-30. Although the production contains traditional theatrical elements, it also embraces the magic of 21st century technology. Using drones, green screen imagery, rear projections, and other cinematic techniques, the Opera Company of Middlebury is exploring the boundaries of opera's potential.

Without a doubt, this production is one of the most successful adaptations to the virtual theatre space, going beyond just a filmed version of a live play and embracing this new medium in a truly moving way.

This week, Theatre Calgary's Stafford Arima and Maya Choldin explained how their company is paving the way for emerging artists in the new digital age of theatre.
