Join the Millbrook Youth Ensemble as they present Live on Stage, ELF JR. THE MUSICAL based on one of the most beloved holiday movies. ELF JR. THE MUSICAL performs from December 13 through 15 on the Ryan Main Stage at the Millbrook Playhouse.

ELF, the musical has become a traditional holiday favorite in the Bayou City and we are excited to see this whimsical story made popular by the movie starring Will Ferrell. ELF the musical has music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin and is based on the New Line Cinema Film written by David Berenbaum. The Musical, First Stage's holiday musical based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema film written by David Berenbaum, has surpassed ticket sales goals by over $87,000, making it the highest grossing production in First Stage history. The previous sales record was set with First Stage's premiere production of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS in 2015. 

Luckily, for audiences at Crossville's Cumberland County Playhouse (where Elf, The Musical runs through December 21 in a delightful and sparkling production helmed by producing director Bryce McDonald), the role of Buddy is entrusted to Chris Hallowes, who has proven himself the personification of the term a?oesong-and-dance mana?? during his tenure at the Playhouse, and who once again proves his mettle with his latest onstage assignment. Were it not for the fact we've always considered Hallowes a star, we'd say Buddy is a starmaking performance for him.

Well, 'Elf' is also a Broadway musical, and it's coming to The Media Theatre this holiday season (November 13-January 12). Christian Ryan directs and choreographs. Upper Deerfield residents will embrace their inner 'elf' when Woodruff School ACE Music presents their production of Elf The Musical JR., it was announced today by Drew Cohen, president of Music Theatre International (MTI). The show featuring 52 actors, 11-13/from 6th-8th Grade, premieres on December 12th, 2019. 'Elf The Musical JR. is an uplifting musical about one boy's quest to find his true identity. The story encourages each of us to approach each day with goodwill, wonder and cheer,' says Cohen. 'From the first rehearsal the students from Group Name have worked together as a team to create this wonderful experience for your community to enjoy. We think they deserve a standing ovation for all their work,' he adds.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre will present a staging of Elf Jr. a?" The Musical as a special Family Theatre Holiday Event for the upcoming Christmas season. Performances of the family friendly production will begin November 23rd and run through December 22nd at the popular Frederick theatre venue.

HBO Max strengthens its drama team with a talented group of seasoned players. The senior executives tapped to lead original scripted drama for HBO Max were announced today by Joey Chavez, Executive Vice President, Original Drama, HBO Max. Joining the drama team are Roberto Alcantara, Vice President, Drama; Chika Chukudebelu, Vice President, Drama; and Mark Tuohy, Vice President, Drama. All executives report to Chavez who oversees creative development. With an accomplished collective of skills in scripted, the group will create a rich slate of original dramas for WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer offering scheduled to launch in spring of 2020.
