Hangmen is officially in previews on Broadway! Martin McDonagh's Hangmen marks McDonagh's seventh play to be produced on Broadway and his return to the stage following his BAFTA and Golden Globe Award-winning and Oscar-nominated film Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri. Hangmen will officially open on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Broadway's Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street).

ABC has shared two clips from the 'O Mother Where Art Thou' of blackish.

Deadline reports that Jeff Meacham, who has recurred on 'black-ish' since season one, will be upped to series regular for the show's sixth season. Meacham plays Josh, Dre's (Anthony Anderson) nonsensical co-worker.

During a rare break from tech rehearsal, I sat down to chat with Mr. Stevens about the Orbit Initiative's upcoming production of The Tempest and some of what his team has accomplished in the past 6 months.

The Johnsons will be back for Season 6 of “black-ish,” as The ABC Television Network announced it is picking up the acclaimed comedy for the 2019-2020 season. In addition, ABC will expand the award-winning “black-ish” franchise even further, with the network giving an early series order to “mixed-ish,” a spinoff about Rainbow Johnson's experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the '80s.

Kevin Stevens, who currently stars as Leonard in the Off-Broadway musical parody of the hit TV show THE BIG BANG THEORY, will appear as a special guest vocalist alongside Tim Realbuto in his upcoming April 18th concert at The Triad Theatre in New York City. He joins previously announced special guests Gabi Faye, Hannah Howzdy, and Erin Leddy.

One could say the stars aligned for one brief day in 1956 when four musicians at the edge of stardom met in the same recording studio. Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins make up that aptly named MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET and their story plays out in the musical play of the same name. Deadline reports Anders Holm, Tika Sumpter, and Arica Himmel will lead Black-ish's upcoming Bow-centric episodes, which features flashbacks of Tracee Ellis Ross' Rainbow. Gary Cole, Ethan William Childress, Mykal-Michelle Harris and Second City Chicago alum Christina Anthony have joined the potential spinoff series set in the 80s and 90s. 

The critically acclaimed hit family comedy series “black-ish” announced today that it has teamed up with prolific designer and influencer Dominic Ciambrone, also known as The Shoe Surgeon, to customize five pairs of “black-ish” branded sneakers. Playing off of Johnson family patriarch Dre's fondness for Nikes, the five unique pairs of sneakers were exclusively designed and constructed by The Shoe Surgeon to celebrate the launch of “black-ish” in national syndication five nights a week, beginning Monday, Sept. 17, 2018. All five pairs will be included in a prize package posted on Omaze, an online fundraising platform, with proceeds benefitting Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

The cast and executive producers of ABC's critically acclaimed comedy series 'black-ish' were joined on set today, Thursday, August 23, by Channing Dungey (president, ABC Entertainment) and Patrick Moran (president, ABC Studios), as they celebrated the show's incredible milestone at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.

ABC continues its commitment to distinctive storytelling with the announcement of its 2017-18 slate of programming. Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment, will unveil the network's new lineup to the advertising and media communities this afternoon at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall in New York City.

Times like these call for plays that directly address our anxieties; and Mike Bartlett's King Charles III is about as timely and necessary a play as we're likely to see. For all its indulgent verbal sprawl the Shakespeare Theatre Company has served Washington theatre audiences superbly, with a stellar cast and a politically taut drama written in the finely-tuned pentameter that once made, well, Shakespeare himself so famous.

Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), in association with Seattle Repertory Theatre and San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater, will present Mike Bartlett's King Charles III, a modern history play, at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street) from February 7-March 12, 2017. The co-production is directed by David Muse, Artistic Director at Studio Theatre and formerly Associate Artistic Director at STC.

Nominations for the 23rd Annual SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS were announced live today from the Pacific Design Center. Sophia Bush (Chicago P.D., One Tree Hill) and Common (Suicide Squad, Selma) joined SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris to reveal this year's announce the nominees.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces the cast and creative team for the Chicago premiere of Mike Bartlett's new West End and Broadway sensation King Charles III, directed by Gary Griffin as part of the Theater's 30th Anniversary Season.

Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) ushers in the holiday season with one of North Texas' most acclaimed productions, Ben Stevenson's The Nutcracker, at Bass Performance Hall December 9-24, and returning this year to the Winspear Opera House in DallasNovember 25-27 and December 2-4. 

Actors Co-op (Ovation Award-Winner 2014 Best Intimate Theatre Musical for 110 in the Shade) presents the second show in its celebratory 25th Silver Anniversary season with the frightfully delightful THE TURN OF THE SCREW by Jeffrey Hatcher from the classic story by Henry James and directed by Robertson Dean (Antigone - A Noise Within).  THE TURN OF THE SCREW previewed on Wednesday, October 12 and Thursday, October 13 at 8pm and opened on Friday, October 14 at 8pm; it runs through Sunday, November 20 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre, 1760 N. Gower St. (on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood) in Hollywood.
