Sapling by Georgina Duncan has won the Women’s Prize for Playwriting, selected from a record number of submissions. The prize is produced by Ellie Keel Productions and Paines Plough and supports female and non-binary playwrights.

With so much potential material to explore, it is incredible that until now, a play has not been written about speed awareness courses. Following the success of the Olivier-nominated Blue Mist, writer Mohamed-Zain Dada and director Milli Bhatia come to the Bush Theatre with their darkly amusing new production Speed.

David Byrne, Artistic Director of the Royal Court, has announced that Mike Bartlett (Love, Love, Love), Ryan Calais Cameron (For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy), Vinay Patel (An Adventure) and Nina Segal (Shooting Hedda Gabler) will join the Royal Court as Associate Playwrights, alongside Gillian Greer (Boy Parts) as Associate Playwright and Dramaturg who joined the organisation earlier in this year.
