The Gershwins s'wonderful musical My One and Only tap dances its way onto the Wagner College Theatre Mainstage from February 21-March 3, 2019, under the direction of Ann Neiman (WCT's 42nd Street and Into the Woods), with choreography by John Scacchetti (Broadway's 42nd Street and Gypsy revivals) and music direction by David Sisco (WCT's Hair and La Cage aux Folles).

Dreamgirls follows the story of a black, all-girl singing trio from Chicago called 'The Dreams' and the behind-the-scenes reality of the entertainment industry. At first, the Dreams' manager falls in love with the lead singer, Effie. Later, he abandons her both romantically and professionally, replacing her with someone thinner. Eventually, Effie manages to recover from the blow and builds a successful career going solo. Will they reunite, resulting in a happy ending for all?

Fairfield Center Stage continues its inaugural season with the award-winning musical DREAMGIRLS, running six performances only, March 1-9. All performances will take place at the theater at Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield CT 06824. Fairfield Center Stage, under the leadership of Executive Producer Eli Newsom and Artistic Director Christy McIntosh-Newsom, has dedicated its inaugural season to putting Fairfield 'center stage' by highlighting several of Fairfield's prominent venues with environmental theater.

The head of the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills came to see DREAMGIRLS, produced by Michael Pettenato and directed/choreographed by Tor Campbell at the 180-seat Cupcake Theater in North Hollywood earlier this year, and believed they absolutely could not let the brilliant show end without giving people on the Westside a chance to see it. And who were they to say no? Under Pettenato's care, the group packed up 450 costumes and boxes of wigs, and headed to Beverly Hills for a one-night only show on Thursday, December 6, 2018.

This musical is one that everyone loves, but it is not an easy one to put together and do right. Tor Campbell, the Director and Choreographer, has accomplished that with an abundance of clever ideas, high energy, style, conviction and talent. The entire Cast is on top of it, feeling and selling this Broadway treasure like nobody's business! There is so much heart in this large Cast that it just spills out everywhere on stage all the way to the back of the house. Besides non-stop movement, full-out everything across the board performancewise, each Principal and each Ensemble member puts their all into it. The date was May 25th 2018. On the Friday evening blessed with clear skies, Graha Bhakti Budaya was filling out with people coming to watch the 9th musical drama production by Jakarta Performing Arts Community (JPAC) - DREAMGIRLS. It was the opening night and the anticipation coming from everyone was palpable. The event had 7 months of preparation and promises of being bigger and better than before. Following last year's WEST SIDE STORY, JPAC once again bought the performance license for DREAMGIRLS, this time through Tams-Witmark Music Library.

To celebrate a new cast and its second year in the West End, Sonia Friedman Productions has today released brand new production photography for the critically acclaimed, multi award-winning musical Dreamgirls at the Savoy Theatre in London, which is currently booking through to 2nd June 2018.

This weekend, Dec. 1-3, the Wagner College Theatre will present Small Town Story in its Stage One studio theater, part of the WCT's New Works Agenda of dramatic works in progress. The musical, written by Brandon James Gwinn and Sammy Buck and directed by WCT professor Michele Pawk, will feature performances each night at 8 p.m. and matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. All performances are free, with reservations suggested by calling 718-390-3259.

Opening their 41st season in tremendous style, the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center offers a superb production of the Tony winning musical Dreamgirls. Running through October 1st at the Oakdale venue, this incarnation boasts a stupendous cast who are absolute naturals in their respective roles. Excellently directed by CM Artistic Director Patrick Grossman (who also serves as Choreographer and Set Designer), the show is certainly a must see for the fall season.
