The long-awaited UK premiere of Dreamgirls opens tonight, Wednesday 14 December at the Savoy Theatre in London, 35 years after originally opening on Broadway. To coincide with this evening's premiere, Sonia Friedman Productions just released brand new production shots for the show, which has been in preview performances since 19 November. Sonia Friedman Productions is delighted to release more tickets for the long-awaited UK premiere of Dreamgirls.  With the first few weeks selling out fast, the new booking period will extend performances at the Savoy Theatre until 6 May 2017. These tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday 14 October 2016.

The long-awaited UK premiere of Dreamgirls has preview performances at the Savoy Theatre from 19 November and Opening Night on Wednesday 14 December 2016. On Monday October 3rd, Sonia Friedman Productions were delighted to assemble the full company for the first day of rehearsals.

The Daily Mail has reported that actress Lily Frazer will be joining the cast of Casey Nicholaw's upcoming premiere UK production of Harry Krieger and Tom Eyen's, Dreamgirls.

Stage 2 at White Plains Performing Arts Center is excited to present Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award Winning musical, IN THE HEIGHTS, playing for two weekends only at the White Plains Performing Arts Center July 29-31 and August 5-7.

Prior to my attendance at Dallas Theater Center's DREAMGIRLS this weekend, my familiarity with the show was based on the 2006 motion picture and the 2001 Actors Fund concert recording (not to mention the Tony Awards clip featuring Jennifer Holliday). Basically knowing only the film, I had often considered how smoothly the stage show could handle the onstage to backstage transitions, given the fast-paced musical score it followed. And, although the DTC production offers a slick, seamless interpretation of the piece, I'm afraid I left the theatre with the impression that the (gasp) movie adaptation was superior to the stage version. That being said, there are still many reasons to head to the Wyly to see this production.

Doubtless, there's a lot of hustling, bustling and what-not going on at Murfreesboro's Center For The Arts today as the company prepares for tonight's premiere of the musical extravaganza Dreamgirls. Directed by 2013 First Night Most Promising Actor Matthew Hayes Hunter (who may or may not answer to the name of "Matt" these days), the grand-scale production features four of the loveliest, most talented and mesmerizing leading ladies to be found on any stage, anywhere: Ra'Shaun Simon (playing Deena Jones), Brianna Booker (Lorell Robinson), Brittany Easley (Michelle Morris) and Robbyn "Vyrgo" Daniel, who plays the clarion-voiced Effie Melody White, the part made famous on Broadway by Jennifer Holliday.
