The Broadway at Birdland concert series is thrilled to announce that singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom will return to the historic club on September 10th 2018 with "My Favorite Things- Songs I've Longed to Sing.' The selections include words and music from the likes of Annie LaMott, Stephen Sondheim, Fran Landesman, Cole Porter, Jacques Brel, Michele Brourman, and, naturally, McBroom herself. The evening promises to be one to calm the jitters, raise the hackles, and hopefully heal the heart. Showtime is 7:30pm. The historic jazz venue Birdland, which has embraced the diversity of cabaret performing in recent years is located at 315 West 44TH ST. between 8th and 9th Avenues.

Singer/Songwriter Michele Brourman celebrates the launch of her brand-new CD 'The Price of Love' with an evening of original songs at Pangea, New York's Downtown Alternative Supper-Club. The show, LET'S ORDER IN, direct from a successful engagement in London's premier cabaret The Pheasantry, is a mix of familiar tunes and new gems from the album.

Pioneer Productions kicks off its new Living Room Series with 'Women's Work' - an evening of songs by female songwriters. Beth Leavel, Tony Award winner for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, winner of the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical, and Outer Critics Circle Award winner for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Beatrice Stockwell in The Drowsy Chaperone, recently brought her cabaret show, KICKING AND SCREAMING, to the Sterling Events Center, as part of their 17th season. Ms. Leavel charmed the audience for 90 minutes with stories of her life in the theatre and sang songs that she has become famous for, along with some musical surprises that were an absolute delight.

This past March, at 2017's MAC Awards, honoring the best of cabaret in New York over the past season, as in most years, there were five nominees for Female Vocalist: Celia Berk, Sally Darling, Meg Flather, Josephine Sanges, and Lisa Viggiano. It's not particularly important, in this case, who won. (Flather did.) If their shared story met the usual expectations, it would've ended there and each nominee would've gone on her own way to do her next big thing. You'll be happy to hear their story defies those expectations.

On November 21, Celia Berk, Sally Darling, Meg Flather, Josephine Sanges and Lisa Viggiano reprise TOGETHER: 2017 Cabaret Award-Nominated Vocalists, whose spring and summer performance's benefiting Trinity Place Shelter and #TheEmpathyInitiative of The Seeing Place Theatre, were warmly received. Proceeds from their upcoming November show will benefit The Meatloaf Kitchen (founded by University Community Social Services) serving dinners to hungry New Yorkers every Saturday since 1982. Efforts to support to a soup kitchen during the season of thanks felt so right to the TOGETHER team.
