TENDERLY: THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL at Florida Repertory Theatre tells the beautifully bittersweet story of Rosemary Clooney through a variety of flashbacks, songs, and therapy sessions.

Florida Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce the opening of 'Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical' by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, a personal and poignant portrait of the woman whose unparalleled talent and unbridled personality made her a legend! Playing December 21- February 24 in the ArtStage Studio Theatre, the run includes four nearly sold out preview performances December 18-20.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) in celebration of its 50th season, will present Romeo and Bernadette- A Musical Tale of Verona and Brooklyn, with book & lyrics by Mark Saltzman and music adapted from classic Italian melodies, the second of four new musicals in development included in this year's "Dare to Be Different" series. Performances are Monday, November 19 at 3pm & 7pm and Tuesday, November 20 at 3pm at A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street - 10th Avenue & 53rd Street.

Penobscot Theatre Company will produce the classic thriller Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott, in a new adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher, as the second show in its 45th Season. Performances will run October 18 - November 4 at the historic Bangor Opera House.   

Florida Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce directors for its 2018-2019 Season and complete casting for five of its upcoming productions. The theatre's 21st season is set to open to previews Sept. 18 with the moving, one-woman comedy, Becoming Dr. Ruth, which kicks off a nine-show season in the theatre's two venues.

If you are looking for a wonderfully well-done, dark and layered storyline, with some very fun and slightly scandalous musical numbers, I highly recommend Florida Rep's CABARET. Florida Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce the extension of the John Kander and Fred Ebb classic, "Cabaret.' Because of overwhelming demand, three performances have been added at the end of the scheduled run, April 12 at 7 PM, April 13 at 8 PM, and April 14 at 2 PM.

Florida Repertory Theatre's 20th anniversary season continues with the John Kander and Fred Ebb classic, "Cabaret.' The production runs in the Historic Arcade Theatre March 23 to April 11with four nearly sold-out previews March 20-22. Rachel York (Victor/Victoria, City of Angels) and Julia Murney (Wicked, Lennon) will star as battling twins Nora and Laura Blake in an industry presentation of the Femme Noir thriller, The Betrayal of Nora Blake, a murder-mystery musical by John Meyer (Heartbreaker).

'The Fabulous Lipitones' Make Joyful Music at Penobscot Theatre

Penobscot Theatre Company kicks off its 2017-2018 Season with the Maine premiere of an a cappella play with music both traditional and timely. The Fabulous Lipitones tells the story of a contemporary barbershop quartet that loses its tenor to a strenuously high B-flat before a major national competition. A scramble ensues to find a suitable replacement, and the best candidate takes everyone by surprise. The production runs from September 7-24, beginning with two discounted previews on September 7-8. All performances will take place at the newly refurbished Bangor Opera House, 131 Main Street, Bangor.  

The memorable melodies and charismatic charm of Burt Bacharach and Hal David's music comes to center stage in FST's first Summer Mainstage production, Burt & Me. Playing from May 31 through June 18 in the Gompertz atre, it's filled with lively characters and summer fun.

It offers a fresh, remarkably personal, and poignant picture of the woman whose unparalleled talent and unbridled personality made her a legend.  With her signature songs woven in and out, we learn both the story of her successes on film, radio, and TV, as well as her struggles in her personal life.

The Muny continues its season with Young Frankenstein (now through July 19), directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, choreographed by Josh Rhodes and music directed by Charlie Alterman. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

STAGES St. Louis celebrates their 30th year with a very funny musical that deserved a much better fate that the short run it had on Broadway, IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU. A play of sorts on the old song 'It Had to be You', this work is difficult to describe simply because there are so many farcical twists and turns that revealing any would spoil the experience. What I can tell you is how terrific this production is. It features a top notch cast that all seem to be having a great time, and why not? It's filled with clever lines and a fine score (music by Barbara Anselmi, book by Brian Hargrove and lyrics by Hargrove, Jill Abramovitz, Michael Cooper, Carla Rose Fisher, Ernie Lijoi, and Will Randall) that's catchy and really fits the show well. I will provide a brief synopsis, but suffice to say, this might be considered the Murphy's Law of shows that feature a wedding. But, you can't go wrong by taking in this superbly rendered presentation, and I heartily recommend that you see it!
