Love Loss and What I Wore by Nora Ephron and Deliah Ephron is returning to Good Theater for 12 performances starting January 19 and continuing through February 9.  This production was a huge hit last winter for Good Theater, the professional company in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, 76 Congress Street, Portland.  Love Loss and What I Wore runs in and around Good Theater's main stage production of An Act of God by David Javerbaum.

Good Theater on Tour is bringing three of its productions to the Nasson Little Theatre in Springvale this summer. Underwaterguy, Love Letters and Love Loss and What I Wore will all play the beautifully renovated theater with two performances of each production.

The complex, sometimes conflicted, often poetic relationship between what we wear and self image and identity forms the framework of a delightful, delicately lyrical, and warmly wistful play by Nora and Delia Ephron, based on the book by Ilene Beckerman. Presented as a staged reading with a rotating cast of five actresses, Portland's Good Theater brings this exquisitely written piece to life with affectionate wisdom.

The sold out house in Portland's Good Theater sat riveted in their seats throughout as the tense, soul-searching drama of J. B. Portland's Good Theater performs its annual musical revue, Broadway at the Good Theater this weekend bringing warmth, cheer, and an array of musical treats to mark the holiday season. Conceived, written, and directed by Brian P. Allen, this year's two hours of song and dance was devoted to the musicals of the 1970s.

The thirteenth edition of the Broadway at Good Theater concerts will be presented November 30 - December 4 for six performances.  This year will be a tribute to Broadway of the 1970s.   

During the first act of Christopher Durang's Tony award-winning 2013 play, Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike, the characters muse that 'if everyone were on anti-depressants, there would be no Chekhov.' Happily for Portland theatre goers, it seems that none of the six colorful, endearing, eccentric personages in Durang's contemporary comedy appears to be on any medication. Rather they squabble and moan and rant about their lives in absurdly clever and humorous dialogue as they struggle to find some happiness in the human bonds which connect them.

Good Theater, the professional theater company in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, will kick off its 15th Anniversary Season with the Portland premiere of the 2013 Tony Award winning Best Play, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang and directed by Good Theater's Artistic Director, Brian P. Allen  The show will begin on Wednesday October 19 and play for five weeks through Sunday November 20 for a total of 30 performances.

This nostalgic, subtly comic, and warmly touching work tells the story of a young Hart, learning to navigate the complex currents of writing a Broadway show in the 1930s. Told by two narrators, Lapine's play brings to life not only the Hart-George S. Kaufmann partnership, but a host of other colorful historical characters who helped to shape this golden age of the stage.

Laurel Casillo made her Broadway debut in Act One in 2014. Since then she has starred in two Good Theater productions:  The Rainmaker as Lizzie in the fall of 2014, and as Marina Oswald in the world premiere of Mama's Boy this past fall in 2015.
