The thirteenth edition of the Broadway at Good Theater concerts will be presented November 30 - December 4 for six performances. This year will be a tribute to Broadway of the 1970s.

Kenita R. Miller returns for her fourth time with the company. She played the role of Miss Celie in the Broadway and national tour of The Color Purple. Also guest starring will be Daniel PatRick Smith who played Buddy the Elf in the national tour of Elf. They will be joined by fourteen singers: Peter Allen, Glenn Anderson, Marissa Sheltra Brown, Jeff Christmas, Laura Houck, Meredith Lamothe, Steve Leighton, Jennifer Manzi MacLeod, Conor Martin, Lynne McGhee, Jen Means, Halim Moldaver, Amy Roche, and Shannon Thurston.

Victoria Stubbs is the musical director/arranger. She is joined in the pit by Bill Manning on percussion, Wade Steamer on guitar and David Emma on bass. Justin Cote is turning the Good Theater stage into a disco and Iain Odlin will create the lighting design. Michael Lynch is the stage manager.

Brian P. Allen is the director and creator of the concerts. Two years ago Allen decided to explore the history of the Broadway musical decade by decade. He began this journey with the 1960s tribute in 2014 and last year's 1930s tribute. This season is devoted to musicals of the 1970s and next year he will tackle musicals of the 1950s. "I decided not to go chronologically. Putting consecutive decades back to back results in minimal changes in musical styles from one decade to another. By skipping around audiences will get to experience greater variety throughout this journey. I love delving into each decade finding those popular songs that are imperative to showcasing the music of the times, but also finding those little known gems that will delight audiences while introducing them to tunes they might not know."

The performance schedule is Wednesday at 7:00 ($25), Thursday at 7:00 ($30), Friday at 7:30 ($30), Saturday at 3:00($30) & 7:30($40) and Sunday at 2:00 ($40). Tickets are available by calling the box office 207-885-5883 or going to the company's website www.goodtheater.com. Seating is limited and performances often sell out.

Broadway at Good Theater will feature songs from such 1970s hits as: A Chorus Line, Annie, Ain't Misbehavin'," Sweeney Todd, The Wiz, Pippin, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, Shenandoah, I Love My Wife, Company, Follies, Godspell, They're Playing Our Song, A Little Night Music among others. In addition to the Broadway music, the concerts will feature songs of the holidays including a mega medley with tunes made famous by Jethro Tull, The Partridge Family, Bobby Sherman, Paul McCartney, Luther Vandross, John Lennon and Jose Feliciano.

Proceeds from the concerts go to help the non-profit's operating expenses. Last year the company incurred a deficit. It was only the second time in the history of Good Theater to have a deficit.

Good Theater is celebrating its 15th anniversary season. The company opened with the Tony Award winning play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The company continues with Love Letters, The May Queen and The Trip to Bountiful.
