The Country Music Association has selected rising Country artists Angie K, Everette and Kylie Morgan as recipients of the second annual CMA KixStart Artist Scholarship. Throughout the year-long program, which officially launches Tuesday, Oct. 1, CMA will mentor the artists, connect them with top industry professionals, as well as provide them opportunities to participate in CMA-related events during CMA Awards, CMA Fest, international events and CMA Foundation programs. In addition to participating in these events, each KixStart artist will receive a stipend to assist with various facets of their developing career.

The following is a list of notes I actually wrote down in the small breaks amidst moments of uninterrupted heart eye emojis beaming from my seat at Feinstein's/54 Below to the stage, where Krysta Rodriguez was taking on the second night of her first solo show.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts announces Judy Carmichael will return to the Bay Street stage with her new show Let's Swing! on Friday, October 4 at 8 pm.

Before sitting down and experiencing Alice Ripley's RIPLEYTHEBAND set at Feinstein's/54 Below, I'd have confidently told you that I already got it. I understood her influence as a Broadway juggernaut, I was totally down for her killer, just-salty-and-just-sweet enough personality, and was obviously in awe of her vibratoed belt that could make a tree transition into Fall just a li'l bit too early. But after seeing her show- a relatively short, wholly intimate, and undeniably personal hour with just two band-mates and a former co-star to back her- I would be forced (and happy) to admit, loudly and genuinely, that I was wrong. I didn't get it. I only thought I did.

Americana/Country-Rock artist Dan Ashley is releasing 'What Really Matters' as the first of what will be several tracks from a future album collection due out in 2020. The track, written by Dan Ashley and producer Bill Bentley, is a deeply personal song, forged by the more than three decades Ashley has worked as a leading American television journalist and the last decade as a singer and songwriter.

Cale. They're populated by people we recognize, in circumstances we might share (or feel fortunate we don't).

Sex! Drugs! Children's theatre! The F--ing Wright Brothers is a heartfelt comedy with music about young ambitious actors on a 58-city children's theatre tour of America. In a van. They sing about the Wright Brothers for two hours a day and spend the rest of their time on hook-ups, meltdowns, petty crime, seedy hotels, and Broadway dreams.

VICELAND has ordered new seasons of two of its popular (and inimitably titled) series: F*ck, That's Delicious and the meta-comedic Traveling The Stars: Action Bronson and Friends Watch Ancient Aliens hosted by network staple: chef, rapper, and raconteur Action Bronson.

Acclaimed performers Matt Cusson, Celisse Henderson, and Erica Sweany will join the one-night only, TodayTix Presents celebration of "Brownstone," a new musical written by singer/songwriter Brian Gallagher. The concert, held at City Winery (155 Varick St.) on May 28, will also feature vocals by Tony Nominee and NBC "Smash" star Megan Hilty.

Lucy Spraggan is in a good place and wants to share it with the world. Today, she releases her fifth studio album Today Was A Good Day on Cooking Vinyl. Lead single 'Lucky Stars' has now had over half a million streams and is playlisted at Radio 2. The album is available here.
