Melba Moore Owns The Stage in WBTT Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill

Arena Stage Artistic Director Molly Smith and Executive Director Edgar Dobie are pleased to announce that Broadway legend Maurice Hines will serve as the Master of Ceremonies and international touring artist and global humanitarian Mary McBride will headline the 2018 Arena Stage Gala honoring Mayor Muriel Bowser on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth St., SW). As previously announced, the Gala features the presentation of the third annual Beth Newburger Schwartz Award to D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, and will recognize Jessica Stafford Davis as an Emerging Leader. The Gala is helmed by event chairs and Arena Stage Trustees Lavern Chatman and Maggie FitzPatrick.

The 36 th Annual McDonald's Gospelfest comes to Newark Symphony Hall (1030 Broad Street, Newark, NJ) on Saturday, May 12th for the gospel event of the year. This swinging night of jazz was debuted in March 2017, and he's back with his trio and some new and old standards that remind him of home. On the 50th Anniversary of Eartha Kitt's infamous White House visit on January 18, 2018, Vincent Victoria Presents will be premiering the play 'The Disappearance of Eartha Kitt'. The two act drama is a Historical Fiction inspired by the headline making incident in 1968 when the celebrated actress was invited to a White House luncheon by First Lady Lady Bird Johnson where women from all across the country were asked to talk about juvenile delinquency.
