Hadestown, the acclaimed Broadway musical phenomenon by singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin has made its long-awaited West End premiere at the Lyric Theatre.
Created with director Rachel Chavkin, it’s a story of tragic love and politics, defeat and defiance. An epic anthem for the lovers and the runaways. The actors mostly new to Hadestown, Hades’ underground factory, with only Gloria Onitiri returning as Persephone (rather than a Fate) and Beth Hinton-Lever in the ensemble.
Due to popular demand, the multi award-winning Hadestown, which opens at the Lyric Theatre, London with performances from Saturday 10 February 2024, has already announced its extension in the West End with tickets now available through to 22 December 2024. The upcoming West End production of Hadestown has released a video of Gloria Onitiri performing 'Our Lady Of The Underground'! Gloria will be playing the role of Persephone when Hadestown begins performances in London on 10 February at the Lyric Theatre.
