Wild Swan Theater announces their 2020 Summer Camps:  Camp DoYaWanna Online.  Wild Swan Theater drama camps are always fun experiences where kids can feel safe and comfortable exploring the imaginative world of theater, and this year is no exception. 

Wild Swan Theater is offering a lineup of drama camps once again this summer. Camps begin June 22nd and run through August 7th with sessions available for children ages 4 and up. Wild Swan Theater drama camps are fun experiences where kids can feel safe and comfortable exploring the imaginative world of theater. Our main goal is that every camper has a great time cultivating their creativity and leaves camp feeling successful. Activities include warm-ups, theater games, and improvisations that bring people together in a nurturing, memorable way. Some weeks also include craft activities such as making props and costume pieces.

The world premiere of Welcome to Paradise, running through August 31st at the Purple Rose Theatre Company in Chelsea, is a fresh piece of theatre that will engage audience members throughout the entire performance. Welcome to Paradise, set in the Caribbean, centers around two people who, despite their age difference, find love and acceptance in each other. With a generation gap (or more) between them, they discover they have more in common with each other than they thought. Welcome to Paradise explores the true meanings of relationships, and how two people who meet as strangers can evolve into something much more.

The Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC) will continue its 28th season with "Welcome to Paradise", a world premiere by Julie Marino. Tickets are on sale now. Performances run from Thursday, June 20 through Saturday, August 31, 2019. Previews with reduced-price tickets are available through Thursday, June 27. Opening night is Friday, June 28.

Nationally acclaimed Wild Swan Theater concludes its 39th season of bringing the finest in professional theater to area families with Charlotte's Web May 1-5, 2019.   Possibly one of the most popular American children's stories today, Charlotte's Web tells the story of a very special friendship between a baby pig, Wilbur, and a spider, Charlotte, and how she weaves magical words in her web to save Wilbur's life.

The news out of Philadelphia about the decade-spanning sexual abuse and coverup in the Catholic Church hadn't been released when Doubt was chosen to be part of the Open Book season, but it proves to have been a timely choice. In the play Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of impropriety. What follows is an engaging examination of the grey areas between suspicion, certainty and doubt.

Extended improvisations arcing gracefully from contemporary jazz to the pianist's trademark spacious meditations, marked by the pianist/composer's identifiable sound-passion, strength, and power, flowing interchangeably with tender expressiveness.

To top off its 38th season, Wild Swan Theater will present an original musical adaptation of L. Frank Baum's much loved fantasy, The Wizard of Oz. Join Dorothy as she travels the yellow brick road to the fabled Emerald City with her new friends the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion. Talented playwright Jeff Duncan, known throughout the region for both his adult and children's plays, was more than up to the challenge of creating this special production just for Wild Swan. Brian E. Buckner has written whimsical and lively music to go with the 13 original songs created especially for this production.

The Wild Swan Theater is continuing its 38th season with an original stage adaptation of Little Women by Louisa May Alcott for six performances starting December 7th in Ann Arbor. It is a beautiful production that young people will enjoy, but adults can come and feel like they are experiencing something special as well, said Sandy Ryder, co-artistic director of the company.
