On September 25, the 36th Annual Helen Hayes Awards concluded, after a series of virtual events celebrating Washington's dynamic and diverse theatre community.

The 2020 Helen Hayes Awards, recognizing the outstanding work on Washington area stages in 2019, continued its four-week virtual event series.

During the 'Can't Cancel Pride' event, John Cameron Mitchell appeared alongside other past Hedwigs to perform 'Wig in a Box' from Hedwig and the Angry Inch!

New York Theatre Barn will host a free live stream of its New Works Series on Wednesday, May 6th, 2020 at 7PM EDT, featuring excerpts from the new musicals Here and Their and Half the Sky. The 40-minute presentation will also feature the creators of the two new musicals.

The stellar commemoration starts Monday, June 8 at 6:30PM with a half hour preshow including a five-course dinner party, red-carpet showcase, and video chat room preceding the concert.

Tomorrow is the pinnacle of a busy week of online activity for Olney Theatre Center. On Saturday, April 4 at 11:00 am, the Montgomery County, MD-based regional theatre will livestream on its Facebook and YouTube pages the announcement of its 2020-2021 season.

Long Wharf Theatre announced today the complete lineup for its 2020/21 Breaking Boundaries season. In the first season fully programmed by Artistic Director Jacob G. Padrón, the non-profit theatre is re-dedicating itself to its founding mission to present innovative art with the community at its center and is committed to creating work that galvanizes New Haven and revolutionizes the new American theatre. The season will include work by directors Tatiana Pandiani, Aneesha Kudtarkar and Patricia McGregor; playwrights Monet Hurst-Mendoza, Kristoffer Diaz and Madhuri Shekar; a radical reimagining of a classic Shakespeare tale adapted and directed by Shana Cooper; and a revival of the award-winning musical Jelly's Last Jam, with a book by George C. Wolfe, music by Jelly Roll Morton & Luther Henderson and lyrics by Susan Birkenhead.

Performances begin on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 for a limited run through Sunday, March 1, 2020. Opening night is set for Wednesday, February 12, 7:30 PM on the Claire Tow Stage in the C.
