Mason Alexander Park to Star in I AM MY OWN WIFE at Long Wharf Theatre

Long Wharf Theatre (Jacob G. Padrón, Artistic Director; Kit Ingui, Managing Director) has announced dates and complete casting for I Am My Own Wife, written by Doug Wright and directed by Rebecca Martínez. Performances begin on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 for a limited run through Sunday, March 1, 2020. Opening night is set for Wednesday, February 12, 7:30 PM on the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Theatre (222 Sargent Drive, New Haven, CT).

After recently playing Hedwig on the First Broadway National Tour of Hedwig of the Angry Inch, Mason Alexander Park sings Stephen Trask's a?oeWicked Little Towna?? to promote their upcoming solo show a?oeMore Than A Woman Or A Man.a?? The GreenRoom 42 presents Mason's upcoming concert on December 12th at 9:30pm after its Los Angeles premier at the Rockwell Table and Stage. Featuring songs from shows that pushed the boundaries of gender play, expression, and performance like The Rocky Horror Show, La Cage Aux Folles, Hedwig, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, and Boy George's Taboo, this show will deeply explore the importance that music and art has on developing identity from a young age through adulthood. From non-binary German punk rock stars, to sweet transvestites from outer space, this will be an evening of self-exploration through some of the greatest gender bending characters in the Broadway canon. Featuring incredible special guests such as Eden Espinosa(Wicked, Brooklyn), Mimi Imfurst (RuPaul's Drag Race), and more to be announced. Directed by Hunter Bird and featuring members from the Hedwig National Tour band, this is a night not to be missed!

BWW Review: SOUVENIR at Rep Stage in Columbia - You'll Laugh Till It Hurts!

It was exactly ten years ago I first saw Stephen Temperley's SOUVENIR at Baltimore Center Stage which starred Tony Award winner, Judy Kaye. I could not imagine seeing a better version of it ever. But, I was wrong. The Rep Stage version is just plain spectacular and the two actors who perform here, Grace Bauer and Alan Naylor are just plain marvelous.

Keeping us gasping is what Cabaret in all of its incarnations has always been about. Gasping at the opulence, gasping at the decadence, gasping at the heedlessness and the horror. It is intentionally strong stuff, and if it delivers, then it succeeds. And by that yardstick, this version, whatever it may or may not owe to its predecessors, is a smashing success.

Olney Theatre Center launches the 2019-2020 season on the Mainstage with Kander and Ebb's CABARET directed by Alan Paul (August 28 - October 6, 2019). Broadway veteran Alexandra Silber, who played Guinevere in Paul's 2019 Helen Hayes Award-winning production of Camelot, and Tzeitel in the acclaimed Bart Sher revival of Fiddler on the Roof, will star as Sally Bowles, the flamboyant showgirl carried away by the glitz and debauchery of Weimar Berlin. Invited press night is Saturday, August 31 at 8:00pm.
