The 11th Annual Burbank International Film Festival (BIFF) will honor Ed Asner, Marion Ross, Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel on September 4th-8th at the AMC 16 Theatre in Downtown Burbank. Opening Night will begin with celebrity arrivals, media red carpet and the World Premiere of the documentary film Stallone: Frank, That Is. The film stars Frank Stallone and is about his life as a guitarist, singer, actor and Golden Globe and Grammy-nominated songwriter. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Frank Stallone and the filmmakers.
Writer/actress/cabaret performer Shelly Goldstein is very popular worldwide and is in a constant state of motion. In our interview she talks about her work and how she cannot live without it. Not a moment passes without a sprinkling of her extraordinary humor.
First, tell our readers about your background. How did you get interested in comedy and then musical cabaret?
Half Time's André De Shields, Donna McKechnie, Lillias White, Haven Burton, Matthew Sklar, Bob Martin, Nancy Ticotin, producer Dori Berinstein and co-producer Kimberlee Garris had a lovely reunion at Theatre Circle in celebration of the release of their Original Cast Recording, and to sign CDs for fans on August 14, 2019.
Robert ('Bob') Ullman (left), the legendary theatre press agent, whose career included Ethel Merman and Mary Martin: Together on Broadway, A Chorus Line (from workshop to Public Theater to Broadway), Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in The Visit, Lauren Bacall in Cactus Flower, The Dining Room, Driving Miss Daisy, Sunday in the Park with George, and over 150 additional Broadway and off-Broadway plays and musicals, died on July 31, 2019 in Bayshore, Long Island, New York. He was 97. The cause of death was cardiac arrest. Bob's death was announced by Rev. Joshua Ellis, a long-time Ullman friend, a former Broadway press agent, and now, an Interspiritual minister.
