The American Vicarious to Present SHOOTING CELEBRITIES

the american vicarious will present the world premiere of Shooting Celebrities by John Ransom Phillips, a multidisciplinary artist equally celebrated for his painting and writing. The production stars Julia Watt as Mary Lincoln, wife of President Abraham Lincoln, and Gene Gillette as Mathew Brady, America’s first celebrity photographer.

The Wallis inaugurates their new pop-up performance space on the Promenade Terrace for live audiences with the world premiere of Tom Dugan’s TEVYE IN NEW YORK! June 23, 2021. Tom co-directs (with Michael Vale) his one-man show on the well-known musical theatre lead character of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Tom managed to find time amongst his many, many writing projects to answer a few of my enquiries.

Out of necessity, the audience will be strictly limited in size. Hand sanitizers will be readily be available, Outdoor fans will be in use and audience members will be required to wear masks.

Ford's Theatre Society Announces the Release of ONE DESTINY

Ford’s Theatre Society announced release of its free, on-demand video version of the popular stage play One Destiny by Richard Hellesen, directed by Mark Ramont. One Destiny On Demand is now available for streaming Feb. 8-June 13, 2021.

Ford's Theatre Society announced its summer history-based live streaming events, including the Thursday discussion series Cabinet Conversations: Creativity, History and Leadership and the Abraham Lincoln Institute Online Lincoln Symposium.

MTC MainStage Will Bring SYLVIA, a Modern Romantic Comedy About a Marriage and a Dog, To Fairfield County

Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's professional award-winning theatre company currently in its 33rd Season, will start the new year off with Sylvia, by A.R. Gurney. Sylvia is a smart, playful, and occasionally gritty comedy about two 'empty-nesters' who meet a dog that quickly becomes a bone of contention between them and tests their marriage to a hilarious and touching degree. Sylvia will run February 7th-23rd with performances on Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm and 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.

Lavender Men, written by Roger Q. Mason and directed by Lovell Holder, had the largest audience yet for The Circle Series, a staged reading series hosted at  Circle in the Square Theatre The Circle Series is a brand new reading series that presents new and developing work on Circle In the Square's Broadway stage, home of the Tony-winning revival of Oklahoma! Inspired by work like Tony Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day, Lavender Men is a daring historical revisionist tale told through an experiemental queer lens. The reading played to a packed house on Monday, August 24.

Garrett Clayton & Charlie Thurston Lead LAVENDER MEN Staged Reading

Celebrating one month of Monday night readings, The Circle Series has selected Roger Q. Mason's Lavender Men to round out the summer portion of the program. Staged at Broadway's Circle in the Square, admission for this and all readings in The Circle Series is by suggested donation, with all proceeds benefiting Circle in the Square Theatre School.

Creative Cauldron Presents World Premiere Musical ON AIR

Celebrating its fifth and final installment of "Bold New Works for Intimate Stages," Creative Cauldron presents the world premiere of On Air. Set in Pittsburgh, PA during the 1920s, On Air tells the story of Frank and Flora Conrad, who were on the edge of discovering mass broadcasting. These two unsung radio pioneers established the first radio station in America in their unassuming garage. On Air follows their untold love story, and how radio became a constant companion, messenger and soundtrack of our lives over the past century of American life. Matt Conner and Stephen Gregory Smith, the critically acclaimed creative team for Creative Cauldron's past Bold New Work premieres (Turn of the Screw 2015, Monsters of the Villa Diodati 2016, Kaleidoscope 2017, Witch 2018,) are mining the nostalgia of a bygone era and shedding light on a relatively unknown piece of American history with this newest work. On Air runs May 2 - 26, 2019.

Alexandra Silber & More Will Lead York Theatre Company's Developmental Reading of MONET

The York Theatre Company, as part of its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present a staged reading of the new musical Monet, with music and lyrics by Carmel Owen (Asylum: The Strange Case of Mary Lincoln), and book by Joan Ross Sorkin (In the Theatre). Monet will play two performances only on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

NEVERMORE To Open Creative Cauldron 10th Season

Creative Cauldron opens its 2018-2019 season with Nevermore, the hauntingly beautiful musical written by resident composer and director, Matt Conner and writer, Grace Barnes. Nevermore draws from the poetry and short stories of the iconic Edgar Allan Poe. After its premiere at Signature Theatre in 2006, The Washington Post hailed Nevermore for its 'romantic music, ablaze with feeling.' Following its 2011 run at Creative Cauldron, Nevermore earned Creative Cauldron its first Helen Hayes Award recommendation. This imaginative musical delves deep into Poe's psyche and explores his gripping obsession with the pivotal women who seemingly haunt his tortured existence. The production will run through October 28 at Creative Cauldron, Falls Church, 410 South Maple Avenue. Performances are Thursdays at 8:00PM, Fridays at 8:00PM, Saturdays at 8:00PM, and Sundays at 2:00PM & 7:00PM.
