From the Dance Department assembly in The Great Hall of Marymount Manhattan College to the intimate stage of The Joyce Theatre, my last “first day” of the semester will go down in history.

This six-day Zoom series--targeting multiple time zones--enables everybody (dance professionals, performers, students, Broadway lovers, dance aficionados, and Fosse fans alike) from around the world to come together and learn Bob Fosse's signature stylized choreography from some of the most sought after Legacy-sanctioned reconstructors.

Stars in the House continues tonight (8pm) with the Ladies of JEROME ROBBINS' BROADWAY Cast Reunion with Charlotte d'Amboise, Susann Fletcher, Debbie Gravitte, JoAnn Hunter, Mary Ann Lamb and Faith Prince.

VISITING BROADWAY ARTISTS is a new resource for theatrical educators connecting college, university and high school students to panels, masterclasses and multi-day intensives taught by a roster of multidisciplinary Broadway professionals. After selecting their preferred topic and Broadway professional, the VISITING BROADWAY ARTISTS team curates a bespoke course pairing the needs of the educators with the expertise of award-winning  Broadway artists.

R.Evolución Latina's annual Beyond Workshop Series scheduled to begin on April 17th has moved to an online program. In light of the global response to Covid-19, RL rallied its teaching artists and creatives to take action.

What happens if you take the upbeat and danceable pop music of a Swedish supergroup, place it in a beautiful sun-drenched setting, add in a dash of comedy, some athletic dancing, and a pinch of bright colors, and wrap it all in a simple, but entertaining, story? You get MAMMA MIA!, the hit musical featuring the music of ABBA,  which is the first musical offering in the 2019 Nutmeg Summer Series at the Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) at the University of Connecticut. The CT Rep, once again under the artistic direction of Terrence Mann (who also serves as the director of this production), is offering MAMMA MIA! as one of only two shows this summer season (down from the typical three) in order to give more people the opportunity to see each production.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) announces casting for the first production of the 2019 Nutmeg Summer Series: "Mamma Mia!," the Tony Award-nominated musical based on the songs of ABBA.  The cast includes Broadway actors Jessica Hendy (Broadway's "Cats," "Aida"), Jennifer Cody (Broadway's "Shrek", "Urinetown" & CRT's "Noises Off"), Lauren Blackman (Broadway's "Anastasia"),  and Bradley Dean (Braodway's "The Last Ship", "Dear Evan Hansen"). The third season under the artistic leadership of three-time Tony Award nominee Mann will include, "Mamma Mia" and "Cabaret." The Nutmeg Summer Series will run June 6 through July 21. CRT welcomes the co-writing team of the show, as Jack Plotnick will direct and three-time Emmy Award nominee and SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky will reprise the role he originated on Broadway (Ted Schneider). The Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts hosted the Region One Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in late January for the third year in a row. The department once again came out strong by giving a public performance of the nominated fall theatre production, 'Evita,' in the MainStage Theatre of the Visual and Performing Arts Center.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 9-14, 2018 in multiple locations throughout the Center. The Center also announced the national awardees for the KCACTF.
