Steven Cutts Set To Direct World Premiere Of HAZING U: A MODERN GREEK TRAGEDY 

LA Ti DO Productions has announced Camp movie actor and Hairspray Broadway alum, turned writer-director, Steven Cutts, will helm the world premiere of Hazing U: A Modern Greek Tragedy, a new play penned by Zachary Harris Martin. David Robert Moore (War Horse) will associate direct, and Courtney Reed (Aladdin, In the Heights) joins in a consulting role. Don Mike Mendoza of LA Ti DO serves as Executive Producer, with casting to be announced.

Freeform Promises EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE OKAY With Series Premiere on Thursday, Jan. 16

Freeform announces Josh Thomas' return to television with 'Everything's Gonna Be Okay,' premiering THURSDAY, JAN. 16. Critically acclaimed for his series 'Please Like Me,' Thomas once again takes on a multifaceted role as creator, writer, executive producer and star of the 30-minute comedy, which introduces Nicholas (Josh Thomas), a neurotic twenty-something-year-old visiting his dad and teenage half-sisters, one of whom is on the autism spectrum. When Nicholas' trip is extended due to his father's untimely death, the siblings are left to cope with not only a devastating loss, but also the realization that Nicholas is the one who will have to rise to the occasion, move in, and hold it all together. A first-look clip wherein Nicholas proposes guardianship of his sisters, Matilda and Genevieve, is available below.

BWW Review: KISS ME KATE at Leawood Stage Company

Leawood Stage Company, the mainly city supported suburban, community theater program under the Leawood (KS) Park and Recreation District operates in several city controlled locations including the outdoor Ironwoods Amphitheatre. The current production, Cole Porter's "Kiss Me Kate," opened this past weekend and will be performed through July 20 at 8:00 p.m. nightly. Leawood City has provided everything needed to put on a great show. Tickets are free.

CMA Fest Reveals Lineup For Additional Free Daytime Stages

 CMA Fest has revealed the lineups for three daytime stages that are free to the public during the four-day festival in June. Sci-Fi Comedy REX DEXTER OF MARS Will Premiere At KC Fringe

A high-flying sci-fi comedy will make its world premiere at the 2018 KC Fringe Festival, July 19-29. Inspired by a forgotten comic book character created in 1939, "Rex Dexter of Mars" is an epic misadventure in time and space, filled with exploding planets, sinister alien bad guys, killer robots and ray gun-slinging heroes. Written by Darrell Brogdon, the play will be presented in the form of a 1930s radio serial, with live sound effects and actors performing multiple roles, at City Stage/Union Station.

PB POETRY FESTIVAL Announces Winner Of Ekphrastic Poetry Contest 2018

Susan R. Williamson, Director of the Palm Beach Poetry Festival, today announced the winners of the Looking Glass Poetry Contest. To enter, writers were encouraged to submit up to 30 lines of original poetry inspired by one of 8 designated works of art that were part of the Looking Glass exhibit at the Cornell Art Museum at Old School Square in Delray Beach.
