Lyndon Terracini for Opera Australia and John Frost for Crossroads Live today announced that the Tony® Award-winning Broadway production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella will play at Melbourne's Regent Theatre from 20 May next year, and at the Sydney Lyric Theatre from 23 October.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, announces the election of Justin Emeka, Doug Hughes, and Seema Sueko as the newest members of the SDCF Board of Trustees. They join President Mark Brokaw, Vice President/Secretary Anne Kauffman, Sheldon Epps, Linda Hartzell, Dan Knechtges, Laura Penn, and Victoria Traube as Trustees of the Foundation. Hughes will serve as the Foundation's Treasurer.

The Vineyard has just announced its new season, which will include productions of Is This A Room, conceived and directed by Obie Award winner Tina Satter; and the Center Theatre Group, Goodman Theatre and Vineyard Theatre production of Dana H., by Obie Award winner Lucas Hnath and directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters. Shá Cage and Elizabeth Carter have been selected as the inaugural recipients of the Lloyd Richards New Futures Residencies, which pair mid-career BIPOC directors and choreographers pursuing institutional leadership with forward-thinking directors, it has been announced by Mark Brokaw, President of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), which is funding the residencies and has overseen the search. In this inaugural year, the Residencies were reserved for Black artists.

Established by theatrical producer Barbara Whitman, the award recognizes a female, trans, or non-binary early-career director who has demonstrated a unique vision in their work with an unrestricted $10,000 cash prize.

Tickets for the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of one of the most beautiful musicals of all time, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, will go on sale this week on Friday 30 April. The contemporary retelling of this beloved story will have its Australian Premiere in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre from 16 November.
