David Gersten, Vice-President of ATPAM, the Association of Theatrical Press Agents & Managers (IATSE Local 18032), died on Monday, April 6 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Monday night at Birdland, singer Natalie Douglas performed a tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr., channeling his charisma, heart, and show-stopping brilliance with every note. See photos here! 

Elena Bennett and Fred Barton will perform from their vast repertoire encompassing Hollywood, Broadway, and the Golden Age of swing. They’ll be joined, as always, by some of New York’s brightest stars who typically drop in to hear the show, and contribute to it with some songs of their own. The next show is this Thursday, July 11th at 7 pm.

The third and final installment of Musical Mondays, titled “A CENTURY OF SONG: 100 Years of Singers & Songwriters” will be held on July 15.   The Musical Mondays series of concerts was first launched by Chicago Cabaret Professionals in 2008 and, over the years, the events have explored historical topics, musical genres, the works of great artists, and social themes. 

Following a sold-out debut at Urban Stages’ Winter Rhythms in December, Award-winning vocalist Celia Berk will reprise A DREAM AND A SONG: The Musical Stories of Elizabeth Sullivan in a Mother’s Day performance at The Laurie Beechman Theatre on May 12, 2024 at 2PM.
