My Name is Asher Lev, the award-winning play by Aaron Posner, based on the best-selling novel by Chaim Potok, opens at Playhouse on Park on April 26. Due to strong ticket sales and many shows already close to selling out, several shows have been added to the run.

Parity Productions, the New York based theatre company dedicated to producing new work and filling at least 50% of the creative positions (playwrights, directors, and designers) with women and/or trans and gender nonconforming (TCNG) artists, opened Charlie's Waiting by Inaugural Parity Commission Winner Melisa Annis on March 31 at Theaterlab (357 W 36th St, New York, NY 10018) hosted by TLab Shares. Charlie's Waiting is playing an extended run of 21 performances now through April 20. The cast is led by Tony nominee Xanthe Elbrick (Broadway: Coram Boy, Candida), and features Stephanie Heitman (A Snowfall in Berlin), and Amy Scanlon (Balladeers Play to the Moon) and is directed by Parity Productions Artistic Director, Ludovica Villar Hauser.

The Archive Residency is a vital incubator for New York City's most electrifying independent theater companies. This two-year residency offers companies an artistic home for the development and presentation of a new work. Each residency culminates with a world premiere production. Now in its sixth year, the Archive Residency is a collaboration between New Ohio Theatre and IRT Theater (likeminded neighbors in the historic Archive Building in the West Village).

Dixon Place presents the incredible true story of Dr. Bernice 'Bunny' Sandler. Almost 50 years ago, Bunny filed the lawsuit that turned into Title IX and made sex discrimination illegal in higher education. In this one-woman show, Rora Brodwin, Bunny's great niece, tells her story. Bunny, The Godmother of IX will be performed for one night only at Dixon Place in NYC on March 14th at 7:30pm.

Jessie Nelson penned the book of the musical, which is based on Adrienne Shelly's 2007 film. With the show now playing to audiences around the world, Jessie discusses honouring and adapting Shelly's story for the stage, and how audiences have responded.

LA MAMA KIDS -- a series of creative workshops and performances for youngsters ages 4 to 12 and their families, presented annually by the Tony Award-winning La MaMa theater - returns for its sixth year this spring with special events set for select weekends from March 23 to June 9, it has been announced by Mia Yoo, La MaMa's Artistic Director.

Mabou Mines, the world-renowned experimental theater company that celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2020,will stage the world premiere of Faust 2.0, March 27 April 14, 2019, in the company's newly renovated home at 122 Community Center (150 First Avenue). Adapted by Matthew Maguire, directed by Mabou Mines' Producing Artistic Director Sharon Ann Fogarty, and developed by Mabou Mines over the course of five years, the production is a timely multimedia reimagining of Goethe's Faust, Part II that follows Faust's search for ultimate power on the global stage.
