The Bush Theatre trustees have appointed Taio Lawson as the theatre's new Artistic Director and Co-CEO. Taio joins the company in Summer 2025 and will oversee the final season of plays programmed by Lynette Linton, who leaves in March 2025. 

Michael Abbensetts was the first Black writer to have a series commissioned by the BBC: the groundbreaking Empire Road, which had an almost entirely Black cast and crew. The Guyanese writer's work has been largely forgotten, so it seems appropriate that the National Theatre, with its important Black Plays Archive, has chosen to stage his play Alterations, not seen since 1978.

The 12 winners of The Stage Debut Awards 2024, in partnership with ATG Entertainment, were revealed at a  London ceremony at 8 Northumberland Avenue on September 29.

The Bush Theatre has announced that Artistic Director Lynette Linton and Associate Artistic Director Daniel Bailey will step down from their roles in Spring 2025 after six years at the west London venue. Bailey will leave in January and Linton in March. 

ATG ENTERTAINMENT, BUSH THEATRE, and the producers of SHIFTERS have announced the Shifting the Narrative: Radical Love commissions, inspired by Benedict Lombe’s critically acclaimed play.

Written by Benedict Lombe and directed by Lynette Linton, Shifters has now opened at thr Duke of York's Theatre after playing at the Bush Theatre earlier this year.
