Photo Flash: First Look at FUN HOME, Playing At Chance Theater Through March 1st

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, opens its 22nd season with Fun Home, the brilliant, groundbreaking 2013 musical based on the intensely personal graphic novel by Alison Bechdel. Written by Jeanine Tesori (music) and Lisa Kron (book and lyrics), with direction by Marya Mazor and music direction by Lex Leigh, running February 8 to March 1 on the Cripe Stage at the Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

BROADWAY IN HOLLYWOOD (Nederlander Organization) has announced the Spectacular Spectacular 2020-21 Season, consisting of seven Broadway national tour productions which will play both the Dolby Theatre and Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. This season marks the second such season that Los Angeles theater audiences will have regular access to blockbuster national touring productions at both iconic theatres on Hollywood Boulevard.

The Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the oldest theatrical organization in the United States, has announced BEN PLATT as the recipient of its 2020 Man of the Year Award, and the youngest ever Man of the Year in the 54 years of the award. The Pudding will present this honor to a Tony, Grammy, and Emmy award-winning actor and musician who has made a meaningful impact on Broadway, television, and film.

The Montalbán Celebrates Ricardo Montalbán's 100th Birthday with Diversity and Inclusion

In celebration of what would be legendary film and television icon Ricardo Montalbán's 100th birthday in 2020, the historic Hollywood theatre, The Montalbán, whose moniker is “where entertainment begins,” is unveiling new plans to fulfill Ricardo Montalbán's dream of diversity and inclusion. This year, the owners of The Montalbán, Ricardo's son in law and President of The Montalbán Company, LLC, Gilbert Smith, and daughter Anita, have plans to expand the theatre's musical performances, beginning with The Company Men on February 21 and 22; and The Soul of Broadway Starring Terron Brooks on February 28 and 29.

La Jolla Playhouse Launches 2020 POP Tour, Developed In Partnership With National Disability Theatre

La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to launch its 2020 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour production: Emily Driver's Great Race through Time and Space, by A.A. Brenner and Gregg Mozgala, directed by National Disability Theatre (NDT) Co-Executive Directors and Playhouse Artists-in-Residence Talleri A. McRae and Mickey Rowe. The production will tour schools throughout San Diego County January 29 a?" March 27.  Commissioned by the Playhouse, this world-premiere play for young audiences will also have four public performances on February 29 and March 1 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm at La Jolla Playhouse. Berkeley Rep Extends GATZ

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced that due to demand, Gatz, which enacts the beloved classic novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and is directed by John Collins, will have an extension. The show will now run for an extra three performances through Sunday, March 1. Gatz begins on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Natalia Dyer Starred In Reading Of BEFORE THIS NEW YEAR

On Monday, January 27th, producer Jonathan Demar (Hadestown) presented an industry reading of Before This New Year, a new play by Liana Sonenclar. This is the 23-year-old playwright's industry debut. The cast was led by Natalia Dyer, best known for her role as Nancy in Netflix's award-winning television series, Stranger Things. The reading was directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Eureka Day), recipient of the 2018 Lucille Lortel Visionary Director Award.

Kelli O'Hara, Jayne Houdyshell and Jennifer Ehle Will Star in Next Performance of THE COURTROOM

Waterwell announced today the complete cast for the next performance of The Courtroom, its re-enactment of deportation proceedings that is playing a series of special, one-night engagements in civic venues following a sold-out run in 2019. Tony Award® winner and Emmy Award® nominee Kelli O'Hara, Tony and Obie Award winner Jayne Houdyshell, and two-time Tony Award winner Jennifer Ehle will join members of the original cast for one night only at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on February 12.

Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) announced today casting for Sanctuary City by Pulitzer Prize winner, NYTW Usual Suspect and former 2050 Fellow Martyna Majok (Cost of Living, queens), directed by Rebecca Frecknall (Summer and Smoke). Sanctuary City will begin previews on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher St, New York, NY 10014), and is set to open on Tuesday, March 24, for a limited run through Sunday, April 12, 2020.
