Jazzmobile, Inc. To Launch Residency At Minton's Playhouse

Jazzmobile Inc. and Harlem Jazz Enterprises have entered into a new partnership to present live music at the iconic Minton's Playhouse jazz club, 206 West 118th Street, in Harlem. This open-ended residency will begin on Independence Day with pianist Nat Adderley, Jr. and will continue every Thursday evening with a world-class jazz band. The Summer lineup will be announced at the opening celebration on July 4.

T.S.O.L. Drop New Single IS THIS A WONDERFUL WORLD?

Famed LA-punk band T.S.O.L. has dropped a new single. Entitled “Is This A Wonderful World?” the track serves as their take on the Louis Armstrong classic “What A Wonderful World” complete with string section and amended lyrics. A video (directed by Trevor Ward) premiered on Alternative Press who said 'The new TSOL single and its unconventional release are either the least punk thing the band have done in their 41-year history—or maybe the most.'

Miami New Drama continues its mission to present innovative theater as diverse and dynamic as Miami itself in 2019-2020. Grammy-Winning Choir The Crossing Releases Kile Smith's THE ARC IN THE SKY On Navona Records

​​​​​​​Grammy-winning new-music choir, The Crossing, releases its latest album, THE ARC IN THE SKY, on Friday, July 12, 2019, on Navona Records. Kile Smith's 2018 setting of journal entries and poems by Robert Lax (1915-2000), THE ARC IN THE SKY is an epic, hour-long tour de force of thought and feeling that traverses topics ranging from Louis Armstrong to Jack Kerouac, and from Jerusalem to the shores of the island of Patmos. THE ARC IN THE SKY marks Smith's sixth commission from The Crossing, which has also recorded his Where Flames a Word and Vespers.

Janda's previous cabaret at Don't Tell Mama as well as performances in Detroit, MI.

Downtown Music Publishing to Represent George Gershwin Catalog

Downtown Music Publishing has signed a publishing administration and catalog marketing agreement for the George Gershwin catalog with the Godowsky family and Heyward Memorial Fund, respective successors to the historic American songwriter and Porgy and Bess authors DuBose and Dorothy Heyward. In addition to many of Gershwin's preeminent works, the agreement includes management of more than 300 previously unpublished songs by Gershwin that have been largely unavailable since their discovery in the 1980s.
