Roundabout celebrates it's 50th anniversary season this year with an outstanding lineup of productions. The 2015-2016 Roundabout Underground production is Ugly Lies the Bone, a new play by Lindsey Ferrentino, directed by Patricia McGregor. For the past two years The Kilroys solicited nominations from over 300 theatre professionals, (primarily artistic directors and literary managers), for their favorite new plays by female-identified playwrights. In June they published The List -- the top 53 of these plays. In the same spirit of promoting opportunities for female and trans artists, Colt Coeur will produce four public readings of new plays by female-identified playwrights to coincide with the run of How to Live on Earth, by MJ Kaufman, who's play Sagitarrius Ponderosa was selected for The List this year.

The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center just honored stage and screen star Nathan Lane with the Monte Cristo Award, which he received last night, April 13 at the Edison Ballroom. Known for roles as Max Bailystock in the musical The Producers, Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple, and, and recurring roles in Modern Familyand The Good Wife, Lane has created a wide footprint on American stage, film, and television. Other memorable and award winning roles include Albert in The Birdcage, Gomez in The Addams Family, and the voices of Snowbell in Stuart Little and Timon in The Lion King.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that PS Classics will record the cast album of the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY on Monday, March 23, 2015. This new Broadway Cast Recording will be released on May 19, 2015. The production is currently playing at the American Airlines Theatre through July 5, 2015.

The 2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Tena Stivicic for her play 3 Winters. Today, March 2, New York's Playwrights Horizons hosted a celebration of the winner and finalists of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, marking the 37th Anniversary of the international prize, which is based in Houston, New York and London. The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize is the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights.

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize previously announced 12 Finalists for its prestigious playwriting award, the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights. The winner of the 2014-2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize will be named at the Awards Presentation today, March 2 in New York City.

Hailed as the launchpad of the American theater, the two-time Tony Award-winning Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is responsible for developing more than 1,100 new works for the stage. Each summer, the O'Neill is home to a series of national conferences ushering in new voices in playwriting, musical theater, cabaret, puppetry, and criticism. NTI's Theatermakers Summer Intensive provides young artists the opportunity to train alongside these professional conferences and see new American plays before they hit the big stage.
