Australian Contemporary Opera Co. (ACOCO) will present the Australian premiere of Emma O'Halloran's acclaimed chamber operas Mary Motorhead and Trade in the Beckett Theatre at The Malthouse in March 2026.

Tommy Emmanuel and Richard Thompson, the influential singer-songwriter and virtuosic guitarist, will co-headline a very special show at the historic Carnegie Hall in NYC on October 30 at 8:00 PM.

Australian Contemporary Opera Co (ACOCo) and Melbourne Recital Centre present a one-night only double-bill of powerful works by two visionary American composers: the Australian premiere of David Lang’s The Loser and Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s To Hell and Back. Acclaimed for their emotional punch, beauty and sensitively, these works are masterpieces of recent American contemporary opera.

Award winning independent company Australian Contemporary Opera Co (ACOCo),  in partnership with The Wheeler Centre and Fed Square, presents Philip Glass’ divisive  Book of Longing — a unique and intoxicating collaboration between two of the most  celebrated musical artists of their generation. Featuring Richard Piper as the voice of  Leonard Cohen, this evening length operatic concert performance of poetry, songs and  music, incorporates projections of Cohen’s poems and drawings and will be staged for one  night only at The Edge, Federation Square. 

ACOCo’s 2022 season sees the award winning independent company roar back to live performance with seven shows all directed by women, including five Australian premieres,    and new presentation partnerships with The Wheeler Centre, the Melbourne Recital Centre, and, wait for it, the MCG (Yarra Park).
