Producer Karen Morris, of Sand Castle Communications and The Rat Pack Music Alliance, presents another swingin' seaside event featuring musical icon, Frank Sinatra, on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, beginning promptly at 2:30pm until 4:30pm, at the Avon Marina Building, 2 Main Street, Avon-By-The-Sea, New Jersey.

Olivia Newton-John’s “Hopelessly Devoted to You” is re-imagined with a Motown groove. Mother Mother’s stomp-rocker “Wrecking Ball” is reconstructed to sound like a Saturday Night at the Roller Rink and Beach Bunny’s “Oxygen” has become a symphonic daydream.

Central Florida favorite Natalie Doliner will grace The Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret stage with her newest solo cabaret - The Money's In the Basement - celebrating some of our best- loved low voices in the performing arts world.  Playhouse Music Director, Christopher Leavy, will accompany on piano.  

As part of their 2023 season, The Midnight Company will present the world premiere production of JUST ONE LOOK, a cabaret show based on the life and music of pop icon Linda Ronstadt. Ruling the pop charts in the 1970’s, Ronstadt was often called the ‘First Lady of Rock’ and recently began climbing the charts again this month with her song “Long Long Time” which was featured in the emotional third episode of the HBO hit show “The Last of Us.”

With her artist legacy series, pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway paid homage to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan on two critically-acclaimed CDs while staying true to her artistic aesthetic. Callaway continues that series with Fever: A Peggy Lee Celebration!, which highlights the songwriting talents of Lee.

Bucks County Playhouse will welcome a trio of powerhouse Broadway singers for a series of concerts to kick off its 2023 Visiting Artist Series. The three singers, who individually are covering music made famous by some of the most popular women of song, will appear in three solo concerts in February, March and April.

Jessica Vosk is a celebrated singer and actress and she has just kicked off her “MY GOLDEN AGE” US tour and will be visiting your area shortly! You may recognize her from Broadway roles like Elphaba in WICKED, or as the Narrator in JOSEPH... at Lincoln Center. I had the opportunity to catch up with her before the launch of this new concert tour.

The Board of Directors of City Opera Vancouver (City Opera) has announced that Founding Artistic Director Dr. Charles Barber will be retiring from his position, effective March 1, 2023. His departure follows the successful premiere of City Opera's fifth commission, Chinatown, which chronicles the rich history of this dynamic Vancouver neighbourhood.

As a performer, Ross draws on a myriad of classic influences: Fleetwood Mac, The Bee Gees, Elton John, The Eagles, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, CSNY, Joni Mitchell, and Tom Petty, not to mention Canadian rock staples the Tragically Hip and '80s/'90s acts like Prince.

Next week, 54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. A recipient of the 2022 Tony Awards Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work.

Bobby McFerrin, Nirvana, Ma Rainey, Nile Rodgers, Slick Rick 'The Ruler,' The Supremes, and Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart are the 2023 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients; Henry Diltz, Ellis Marsalis and Jim Stewart are the Trustees Award recipients.
