Celebrating 35 years of fusing the beauty of traditional African movement with contemporary choreography, The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) welcomes the return of Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE. With a mixed bill of company classics and a newly-commissioned work, the Brooklyn company will play The Joyce Theater from February 25-March 1.

Last night, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2019-2020 holiday season engagement at New York City Center kicked off with a star-studded Opening Night Gala Benefit performance and party led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, with award-winning actress and singer Renée Elise Goldsberry as honorary chair. 

Glenn Allen Sims and Linda Celeste Sims, who are treasured artists of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, have been quietly preparing to become parents of a new baby boy in April. This will be the first child born to Linda and Glenn, who have been dancers with Alvin Ailey since the mid-1990s and were married in January 2001.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark from May 12th to May 14th. Broadwayworld.com had the pleasure of interviewing New Jersey native and 20-year veteran dancer of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Glenn Allen Sims, who will be performing at NJPAC.

Blackstone will be presenting an excerpt from his new work, Freddie Falls In Love, which recently had its premiere at The Pershing Square Signature Center in New York City. The show was also a benefit performance for DRA and Blackstone figured it would be a perfect fit for this year's festival.

Acclaimed choreographer Brian Brooks and ballet world legend Wendy Whelan will perform a duet at this year's Fire Island Dance Festival(#fidance), one of the most talked about cultural and charitable events of the Fire Island summer. Set for July 15-17 in Fire Island Pines, NY, Fire Island Dance Festival is produced by and benefits Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
