On this day in 2015, Hamilton officially opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers theater!

There has been a lot of news swirling around stage to screen adaptations in the past few weeks, from Lin-Manuel Miranda directing a TICK, TICK... BOOM! movie, to Diane Paulus directing NBC's HAIR LIVE!, and this Friday, the Disney Channel original movie of the FREAKY FRIDAY musical will premiere.

Six began as a Cambridge University student production before heading to the Edinburgh Fringe last year. It returns to Edinburgh this year following on from a successful run at the Arts Theatre in London and a UK tour.

Broadway director and writer Gordon Greenberg has revised the book for Meet Me In St. Louis at The Muny. Performances began August 4 and will run until August 12. This production, the 8th in Muny history, will also include several songs new to the stage adaptation of Meet Me In St. Louis, including 'Boys and Girls Like You and Me,' a song written by Rodgers & Hammerstein for Oklahoma! and then recorded for, but ultimately cut, from the film of Meet Me In St. Louis. This production will also include the first stage use of 'You and I,' a song in the film by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) and the Onassis Foundation USA announced today six free performances of THE GOSPEL AT COLONUS, the groundbreaking re-telling of Sophocles' classic, for a limited engagement, September 4-9 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The Public Theater's production of Public Works' TWELFTH NIGHT, conceived by Kwame Kwei-Armah and Shaina Taub, music and lyrics by Shaina Taub, Choreography by Lorin Latarro, and directed by Oskar Eustis and Kwame Kwei-Armah, opened just last night, July 31, running through Sunday, August 19.

Huntington Theatre Company will present the New England premiere of the hit musical comedy Spamilton: An American Parody at the Wimberly Theatre in the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA in Boston's South End, from February 12 to March 10, 2019. Spamilton joins the 2018 - 2019 season as a special added event. Tickets are now on sale only to Huntington subscribers; any remaining tickets will be made available for sale to the public in December.

Audiences are in for an extra fun evening with Theatre in the Park's final production of its summer OUTDOOR season, with Disney's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 1 & 2 (one act versions) that opens Friday, Aug. 3 Additional performances continue through Sunday, Aug. 5, and again Wednesday, Aug. 8 through Saturday, Aug. 11. Showtime for all productions is 8:30 p.m. with gates opening at 7 p.m. This production is rated PG.

Six of Broadway's most sought-after stars will join Mark Cortale's "Broadway @ The Art House" and "Broadway @ Town Hall" concert series in Provincetown in August.
