Lin-Manuel Miranda on Oscars Ceremony- 'Hostless AND Music-less?'

Earlier this week, nominations for the 91st OSCARS- a ceremony that, for the first time in three decades, will not have a host. Now according to Variety, only two of the five Best Song nominees ('All the Stars' from Black Panther and 'Shallow' from A Star Is Born') will perform during the telecast. This means that the nominees from Mary Poppins Returns, RBG and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs won't get their time in the spotlight on February 24.

The HouseWarming Party will celebrate Ars Nova's expansion into the historic Greenwich House Theater and support the development of new artistic programs at two New York theaters: Ars Nova at Greenwich House and the Ars Nova Hub on 54th Street.

TINY, BEAUTIFUL THINGS To Open At The Armory

Portland Center Stage at The Armory brings the critically acclaimed adaptation of Cheryl Strayed's Tiny Beautiful Things to debut in the author's hometown. Adapted by Nia Vardalos (writer and star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding), co-created by Vardalos, Thomas Kail (director of Hamilton) and Marshall Heyman, and directed by Rose Riordan, Tiny Beautiful Things explores the time Cheryl Strayed spent as the anonymous advice columnist behind "Dear Sugar," and the honest, intimate connection she forged with her readers. Dana Green takes on the role of Sugar, joined by Leif Norby, Lisa Renee Pitts, and Brian Michael Smith who play the letter writers.

Joe's Pub At The Public Theater Announces 2019 Class Of JOE'S PUB WORKING GROUP

Joe's Pub, a program and venue of The Public Theater, announces the new class of Joe's Pub Working Group (JPWG), the venue's artist development program dedicated to enhancing the career sustainability and growth of performing artists. Entering its fifth year, JPWG welcomes five artists performer and songwriter Migguel Anggelo, composter and vocalist Trevor Bachman, comedian and performance artist Becca Blackwell, jazz musician and composer Yacine Boulares, and singer-songwriter Treya Lam as the core group that represents the diversity and scope of the nightly programming at Joe's Pub.

FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME Begins January 30 at Greenwich House Theater

FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME, the highly-anticipated return engagement produced by Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jenny and Jon Steingart, and Jill Furman, will begin performances on Wednesday, January 30 at the Greenwich House Theater, 27 Barrow Street. A TodayTix lottery for 15 tickets a performance will be offered during the five-week engagement to help fans get tickets to the sold-out show.

Shoshana Bean, Bonnie Milligan, Terrance Mann, Nancy Opel Lead Reading of GREETINGS FROM NIAGARA FALLS From The Creative Team Of NEWSIES

BroadwayWorld has learned that earlier this month, a reading was held for a new musical titled GREETINGS FROM NIAGARA FALLS. The new musical currently in development reunites the creative team behind Disney's NEWSIES. The musical features music by Alan Menken, book by Harvey Fierstein, and lyrics by Jack Feldman. JV Mercanti directed the reading.
