Qasim Mahmood plays Aladdin in this magical new adaptation by award-winning comedian, actor and composer Vikki Stone who returns to write her debut pantomime for the Lyric following critically acclaimed appearances as Abanazar in Aladdin in 2016 and Fleshcreep in Jack and the Beanstalk in 2017.

Martin Marquez has an extensive repertoire of stage work with the Donmar Warehouse, The National and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.  He most recently starred as Nathan Detroit in Sheffield Theatre's production of Guys & Dolls and in Josie Rourke's revival of Sweet Charity at the Donmar playing Vittorio Vidal. 

In Leopards, by rising playwright Alys Metcalf, Niala will be played by Saffron Coomber. Niamh Cusack will be reuniting with director Melly Still in the world premiere of Colin Teevan’s The Seven Pomegranate Seeds.

Under Haydon's stewardship, the Rose's own work will be the priority, as demonstrated by the five Rose Originals in this upcoming season, but there will always be room on the theatre's stage for the country's leading touring shows as well.  This season's Rose Originals are a blend of new plays tackling significant contemporary issues and well-known titles reinvented for today.

We at #scenechange are launching an action to wrap our theatres in a positive message. Over this weekend, with the theatres' collaboration, we will wrap the buildings we love in our positive message tape #MissingLiveTheatre.

A group of leading Theatre Designers have formed #scenechange a?" a Community that brings designers together at a moment of great uncertainty for the theatre industry and its creative professionals, to join in conversation and explore how to navigate a way through this time.

Theatre Royal Stratford East has announced the free broadcast of this year's pantomime Dick Whittington to local hospitals, hospices and care homes in East London and Essex.

Pack your bags! It's time to hit the road and follow your dreams… Join Dick Whittington on his quest to find adventure, fame and fortune in London, at Stratford East's annual must-see pantomime. Will he defeat the villainous rodent who's taken control of the city?

There was so much love at the Kiln Theatre last night. People from Brent and beyond came to celebrate the community production about an area consisting of 149 different languages. Residents from all walks of life graced the stage to demonstrate how beautiful the call for kindness can be.

Kiln Theatre throw open their doors to the local community for a day of free special events on 28 September.

The simple act of deception that opens Ibsen's A Doll's House never ceases to amaze me. A housewife enters, laden with boxes or bags from a recent shopping trip, and pops a sweetie secretly in her mouth. Her husband calls, playfully asking if she visited the confectioners whilst in town. Of course not, the wife replies, licking her lips. If she can lie about something so simple as a delectable treat, what else is she hiding?

Elliot Cowan returns to the Lyrics Hammersmith for A Doll's House. Taking us through his own history with the play, Elliot also shares an insight into the vitality and vision of Gupta's adaptation, set against the backdrop of British colonialism.

With over 725 stories to choose from, the eight writers we commissioned to reimagine Aesop's Fables were spoilt for choice. Each of the writers has had their own unique take on them - from Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig's joyful musical with a crow chorus through to as piece by Chris Goode which takes the basis of a rehearsal room and then smashes through the fourth wall with an act of animalistic rebellion.

The Unicorn will be continuing their hugely popular workshops this summer holidays. Led by professional theatre-makers, participants can learn great new skills and make new friends. From dance, set design, drama, puppetry and more. Workshops range from a day or two days, through to the five day Play In A Week workshops. The performance-based workshops close with a sharing for friends and family.

The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre today announces its 2019/2020 programme of work, Rachel O'Riordan's inaugural season as Artistic Director:

Paul Chan, Tuyen Do, Zachary Hing, Daniel York Loh, Kwong Loke, Richard Rees, Gabby Wong and Millicent Wong have been cast in the world premiere of Pah-La, written by Abhishek Majumdar and directed by Debbie Hannan. With design by Lily Arnold, lighting design by Jessica Hung Han Yun and composition and sound design by Tom Gibbons.

The very stiffest of stiff upper lips is on display at Royal and Derngate in the premiere of Barney Norris's adaptation of The Remains of the Day.

In a deserted part of the American south-west, Alex (Joe McGann) is being tended to by his loving fourth wife Lia (Clara Indrani). Once a successful artist, he was rendered speechless and motionless by a stroke. His only son Sean (Jack Wilkinson) and his second spouse Toinette (Josie Lawrence) arrive to convince his new wife to agree to terminate his life.

Telling the interwoven stories of three men coming home from war, this new work by Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting winner Anna Jordan is directed by Frantic Assembly associate director Neil Bettles and marks the 10th anniversary of Frantic Assembly's award-winning Ignition training programme. The cast includes Jared Garfield, Joe Layton, Jonnie Riordan and Kieton Saunders-Browne.
