“Dangerous Liaisons” is the new drama featuring the literary lovers, the Marquise de Merteuil (Alice Englert) and the Vicomte de Valmont (played by Nicholas Denton). Film at Lincoln Center announces Human Conditions: The Films of Mike Leigh, a retrospective of the widely lauded director’s career, running from May 27-June 8. For over half a century, Mike Leigh has directed films suffused with emotion and the realities of working-class struggle. From his debut feature, Bleak Moments (1971); to his ’70s television work for the BBC; to the breakout mid-career successes of Life Is Sweet (1990), Naked (1993), and Secrets and Lies (1996); through the historical films that have marked his output more recently, like Mr. Turner (2014) and Peterloo (2018), a Mike Leigh film always has an unmistakable energy and feeling for the triumphs and tragedies of everyday life.

Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris is the enchanting tale of a seemingly ordinary British housekeeper whose dream to own a couture Christian Dior gown takes her on an extraordinary adventure to Paris. The film stars Lesley Manville, Isabelle Huppert, Jason Isaacs, Lambert Wilson, Alba Baptista, Lucas Bravo and Rose Williams.

The fourth season of the Netflix series The Crown has had fans buzzing about the accuracy of several scenes depicting performances from Princess Diana. Another scene in the series shows Diana performing Uptown Girl for a surprised opera audience, as well as her husband Prince Charles, along with dancer Wayne Sleep. It turns out this really happened, as well!

After Season Four of The Crown released on Netflix this past weekend, theatre fans have been buzzing about a particular moment featuring Princess Diana singing All I Ask of You from The Phantom of the Opera.

As part of the current season of one-person plays, The Bridge is presenting the now sell-out runs of David Hare's Beat the Devil and Inua Ellams' and Fuel's production of An Evening with an Immigrant.  Today additional performances will go on sale for both as the season is extended to 7 November 2020.
