BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present vocalist and pianist Steve Ross – widely heralded as “The Crown Prince of New York Cabaret” – in a special show celebrating spring on Monday, April 18 at 7:00 PM.

His longtime main ensemble — Wilson on guitar and vocals accompanied by Blue Note recording artist Gerald Clayton on piano and keyboards, bassist David Piltchand Jay Bellerose on drums and percussion — helps bring the tales to life with these musical settings much as, say, Jonny Greenwood’s score does in Power of the Dog.

Cox will be the first Black woman to receive the national honour. Cox has released six critically-acclaimed albums and has scaled the R&B and pop charts with six Top 20 Billboard Magazine R&B singles and thirteen number one hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart. Cox will perform live from Toronto’s Budweiser Stage.
