Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) is still accepting applications for its annual  BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop for the first-year composer and lyricist classes.

Due to technical issues (or spy interference) the Off Broadway premiere of I Spy A Spy, a new (declassified) musical comedy, with book and lyrics by Jamie Jackson and book & music by SoHee Youn, directed and choreographed by Bill Castellino (Cagney, Desperate Measures) with musical direction by Dan Pardo (Amazing Grace) will now begin its limited engagement (through September 21) at The Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Saturday, July 6th at 8pm. The show will have its official opening on Thursday, July 18th at 7pm.

The BMI Foundation has announced seven members of the Tony-honored BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop as the winners of its annual Musical Theatre Awards, encompassing the Jerry Harrington Awards For Outstanding Creative Achievement in Musical Theatre, the Jean Banks Award, and the Ellen Schwartz Award for Outstanding Literary Merit in Lyric Writing. The awards were presented by BMI Director of Musical Theatre and BMI Foundation Board Member Patrick Cook during a ceremony held on June 17 at Broadcast Music, Inc.'s headquarters in New York City.

Audience members at concerts recorded live by a New York City singer-songwriter are choosing the songs for his album over four performances in Manhattan. '#OriginalMisch: Four Night Stand' are all songs by Mischa Kischkum, with four guest stars and Dan Busa. Every song is being recorded, in case it makes the cut.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, Brian Charles Rooney joins the new musical Reverend Jackson Regrets on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 9:30pm. Brian Charles Rooney, critically acclaimed for his performances in Roundabout's Broadway production of The Three-Penny Opera smash off-Broadway hit Bedbugs and winner of the New York Music Festival award for outstanding actor for his portrayal of Lee/Miss Blanche in Miss Blanche Tells It All, will play Reverend Vernon Jackson (Just like the 7 Train subway stop) in the pre Off- Broadway concert presentation of Reverend Jackson Regrets, an exciting evening featuring the songs of this 2017 Midtown Musical Theatre Festival Best Production winner. In 2008, Reverend Vermon Jackon's Religious Broadcasting Network in Lynchburg Va. presented the "Gay No More Telethon for Reparative Therapy."

Last night, the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop held a special performance of memorable songs created during this year's workshop at the quaint Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater in New York City. This esteemed workshop has been cultivating rising talent since 1961 and fostered some of the brilliant minds behind a variety of notable award-winning shows such as Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon, A Chorus Line, Raisin and Nine.

NEUROSIS is a modern musical comedy with a psychiatric twist-a story about finding happiness, falling in love, and dealing with that little voice in your head along the way.
