'Thrilling' dance moves abound in Michael Jackson musical. Where do you even begin when telling the life story of the most successful entertainer of all time? Is creativity, which inherently involves MJ, the bio-musical about Michael Jackson that just opened at Greenville’s Peace Center, tells the story of his life by telling the story of his work.
Individual tickets for the smash-hit musical, MJ, will go on sale starting Tuesday, September 19 at 10am. MJ makes its Seattle premiere at The Paramount Theatre from December 7 – 17.

Is MJ a fun and entertaining musical that treats audiences to many of Michael Jackson’s iconic hits? Yes. Does MJ also demonstrate why bio jukebox musicals are tricky? Yes. In the musical, MJ emphatically tells fictional MTV reporter Rachel that he wants to be remembered for his music. But can the art be separated from the artist, or are the two intertwined in all their messy, complicated ways? I don’t have an answer to that question, but I think MJ struggles with making the struggles and demons of a complex person — the real-life Michael Jackson — seem simplistic.

Back by popular demand, Hadestown will perform at San Francisco’s Orpheum Theatre (1192 Market St.) from September 12–17, 2023 as part of BroadwaySF.
Anaïs Mitchell, the Tony and Grammy-winning creator of Hadestown, performed with the touring cast at the show’s opening night curtain call. Hadestown had its Toronto premiere at the Royal Alexandra Theatre on July 7, 2023. Toronto performances run through August 20, 2023. Check out the video here!
