Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Director) has announced that it will present THE OPEN GATE, a musical adaptation of Nobel Prize-winning author Isaac Bashevis Singer's novel The Manor, on Sunday October 14th atTheater for the New City (155 First Avenue at 10th Street).

Broadway's Ruby Rakos and Brian Charles Rooney will be joining David Davila as very special guest stars when Davila makes his triumphant return to the Beechman on Sept 16th at 7pm with a brand new show filled with new jams and old favorites from Davila's songbook. Joining them will be Jaime Cepero, Lillian Andrea de Leon, Charles Barksdale, Jackson Perrin, Ashley Mitchell, Delvonte' Rashawn Heart, Mark Andrew Garner, and Stephanie Nash.

The award-winning composer of Manuel Vs the Statue of Liberty, 52Songs, Vox Pop, and Promesa presents a host of new songs, and old favorites with his regular band of merry collaborators and Broadway guest stars!

"There's nothing formal about this but this dress." Kennedy Davenport's aside, just several minutes into her August 23 performance of THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO KENNEDY DAVENPORT at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, couldn't have been truer. And, to put it in RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE speak, that informality represented both the top and the bottom of the performance--- though, rest assured, nobody was in danger of elimination.

The Green Room 42 Presents stage and television performer, Andrea Wolff, in her new cabaret, I Can't Trace Time, a passionate and whimsical look at the arc of life. Featuring a signature mixture of pop and Broadway, Andrea Wolff's I Can't Trace Time features a master entertainer who has been widely lauded for her strong comic timing, offbeat and compelling characterizations and superb taste in music. Prolific, award winning British Composer and Musical Director/Arranger, Jude Obermuller will lead a quintet and Special Guest Artist, guitarist Sean Harkness will appear. Travis Moser, a staple of the New York City cabaret scene, has release a new album of songs in tribute to the women who have inspired him along the way.  His latest EP titled Mhe Midtown Sessions celebrates the iconic divas of Broadway and beyond that have influenced Moser's recording and concert work to date.

Marissa Wolf, Associate Artistic Director and Director of New Works at Kansas City Repertory Theatre (KCRep), today announced the full schedule for the organization's popular 2018/2019 Monday Night Playwright Series. The series features a line-up of new and returning playwrights including Christina Anderson, Bennett Fisher, Greta Oglesby, Andrew Rosendorf, Bianca Leigh and Mellon Foundation Playwright in Residence Nathan Louis Jackson, in addition to the Playwright Slam, hosted by Nathan Louis Jackson. These free public events take place on the UMKC campus at the Spencer Theatre Donor Lounge. 

Manhattan Repertory Theatre will showcase two new one-act plays 'No Turning Back' by Richard Thomas Henle and 'Evening With Stephen Crane' by Phil Paradis.
