The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) has announced the performer lineup for the Women of Note concert series, celebrating female, queer and trans artists who are changing the landscape of musical theatre. Featuring dynamic sounds and incredible performers, this one-night-only concert event will showcase even more artists than last year in two back-to-back performances. Women of Note will take place at The Duke on 42nd Street (229 W. 42nd Street) on Monday, August 1 with two separate lineups at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Tickets are available now at www.nymf.org/tickets.

?Rhinebeck Writers Retreat is presenting a reading of the new musical, INTO THE WILD, book and lyrics by Janet Allard and music and lyrics by Niko Tsakalakos, on June 13 in New York City for an invited industry audience. INTO THE WILD is based on the acclaimed best selling book by Jon Krakauer and "Back to the Wild" by the Christopher J. McCandless Foundation.
Lauren Pritchard Joins 'BRIDGE THE GAP' Concert Lineup at Feinstein's/54 Below

Lauren Pritchard, originated the role of Ilse in the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of Spring Awakening. She wrote the music and lyrics of the Off-Broadway hit, Songbird, (book by Michael Kimmel). You can hear Lauren singing on the radio with bands like Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, Lemaitre and artists like Matt Nathanson. You can see her perform as she tours across the country with her band...and you can also find her performing in the NEXT Concert Series: Bridge the Gap concert at Feinstein's/54 Below on June 6th.

The third volume of the concert features a cast of dynamic performers from the Broadway and NYC theatre communities, singing songs from across the musical theatre spectrum about, well, love. The love we make, the love we take, the love we find, and the love we hold onto - this evening will see and sing us through it all. This year, the song selections feature female musical theatre writers and composers.
Tony Nominee Kate Baldwin & Paolo Montalban to Lead THE KING AND I at Lyric Opera of Chicago

Lyric Opera of Chicago announced today that Tony Award-nominated Kate Baldwin and Paolo Montalban will star as Anna Leonowens and the King of Siam in Lyric's grand-scale production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, April 29-May 22, 2016 (press opening April 30). A graduate of Northwestern University, Baldwin last appeared onstage in Chicago in the Broadway-bound musical Big Fish. Montalban has been seen in Broadway productions of Pacific Overtures and The King and I, and is best known for starring as the Prince in ABC's telefilm of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, alongside Brandy and Whitney Houston.

The Lexington Theatre Company is in final preparations for its second 'Concert With The Stars,' January 16, 2016, at 8:00pm at The Lexington Opera House. This year's line-up of stars includes Jenni Barber (Wicked, Annie, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Stephen R. Buntrock (A Little Night Music, Oklahoma, Beauty & The Beast), Erin Dilly (A Christmas Story, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Tony nominee for Chittty Chitty Bang Bang) and Kyle Dean Massey (Pippin, Next to Normal, Wicked, ABC's 'Nashville'), alongside collegiate and local talent - illustrating the mission of this new professional theatre company in Lexington, Kentucky. The Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret, an evening of musical showstoppers written by women and performed by Broadway's best, benefits The Lilly Awards Foundation (Marsha Norman, President) whose mission is to promote gender parity at all levels of theatrical production, and develop and celebrate the work of women in the theater. Directed by Leigh Silverman, and with musical direction by Georgia Stitt, it was held last night at The Cutting Room.
